Part 6 : Sagi(捨己,사기)... Abandoning Oneself ... Item 62.
"Sagi(捨己,사기)" means not discriminating or fussing over one′s
own physical body (self- preservation).
If you already given your heart (trust) to someone else and consequently
encounter disaster or hardship,
you will fail to preserve both your body and your righteousness.
While most ordinary people wish to cast aside loneliness and preserve their own bodies,
ensuring instead that there is no flaw in his righteousness.
[Original Text,
One who sacrifices oneself does not discriminate
or fuss over one′s own physical body.
If you have already committed your heart to another and consequently
walk into hardship and calamity,
it is impossible to preserve both your physical body and your moral righteousness.
Ordinary people abandon righteousness to preserve their won bodies,
whereas a wise sage sacrifices his body to keep his righteousness whole.
