Meet Ms Brigid originally from Cape Town, South Africa

With over 16 years of international teaching experience, this member of our Tenby International Primary School (TIPS) community brings both depth and diversity to the classroom.

Meet Ms Brigid originally from Cape Town, South Africa, she has lived and worked across South Africa, the Republic of Georgia, Mongolia, the UAE and Vietnam before making Malaysia home. This global journey has shaped her worldview and enriched her approach to education — something our students benefit from every day.

Today, she teaches Year 2 Humanities and Science, where her experience translates into engaging, active and meaningful learning.

Her philosophy aligns closely with Tenby’s values — nurturing Curious, Confident learners who are encouraged to explore ideas, ask questions and connect learning to the world around them. Having taught across age groups and subjects, she brings valuable insight into what truly keeps young minds engaged: variety, relevance and energy in the classroom.

Beyond school, she enjoys cross-stitching (which she now shares with students as a CCA), reading and hiking. She is also a proud cat mum to three Vietnamese rescue cats who made the move to Malaysia with her.

Since joining Tenby, she has experienced firsthand the warmth of the TIPS community, describing both staff and students as kind and welcoming — a reflection of the supportive culture we are proud to foster.

남아프리카 케이프타운 출신인 브리지드 씨는 말레이시아를 고향으로 삼기 전까지 남아프리카공화국, 조지아공화국, 몽골, UAE, 베트남 전역에서 살면서 일해왔습니다. 이러한 글로벌 여정은 그녀의 세계관을 형성하고 교육에 대한 접근 방식을 더욱 풍부하게 만들어 주었으며, 이는 우리 학생들이 매일 혜택을 누리고 있습니다.
오늘 그녀는 인문학과 과학 2학년을 가르치며, 그녀의 경험이 몰입감 있고 활발하며 의미 있는 학습으로 이어집니다.

학교를 넘어 그녀는 크로스 스티칭(현재 CCA로 학생들과 공유), 독서, 하이킹을 즐깁니다. 또한 말레이시아로 함께 이주한 베트남 구조 고양이 세 마리의 자랑스러운 고양이 엄마이기도 합니다.
텐비에 입사한 이후, 그녀는 TIPS 커뮤니티의 따뜻함을 직접 경험하며 직원들과 학생들 모두를 친절하고 환영하는 존재로 묘사했습니다. 이는 우리가 자랑스럽게 여기는 지원 문화의 반영입니다.
