As the European club competition season reaches its closing stages, UEFA's House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland, will host the draws for the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the 2008/09 UEFA Champions League and UEFA Cup on Friday. Both UEFA club competition draws will be transmitted live on uefa.com and on Eurosport.

UEFA Champions League draw
The UEFA Champions League draw will be made at 12.00CET and will be conducted by UEFA General Secretary David Taylor and the ambassador for the Rome final, Bruno Conti. The UEFA Cup draw will follow at 13.00CET and will be conducted by Mr Taylor and the ambassador for the Istanbul final, Can Bartu.

UEFA 챔피언스리그의 대진 추첨은 UEFA 사무총장 데이빗 테일러에 의해 금요일 12시(한국시각 오후 8시)에 진행되며, 브루노 콘티(AS로마 단장)가 추첨을 맡을것입니다. UEFA컵의 대진 추첨은 13시(한국시각 오후 9시)에 진행되며, 칸 바투(페네르바체 단장)가 추첨을 하게됩니다.

Open draw
The eight winners of the ties played in the first knock-out round of the UEFA Champions League will contest the quarter–finals, with the pairings determined by an open draw. This means that clubs from the same national association may be drawn against each other. The quarter-finals are played on a home-and–away basis, with the first legs played on Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 April and the return legs on Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 April. The four winning teams will, at that stage, know who they will meet in the semi-finals, as the pairings will also be decided during the draw ceremony. The first legs of the semi-finals will be played just two weeks later, on Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 April, with the second legs to be staged on Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 May.

8강전 경기는 홈&어웨이로 진행되며 1차전은 4월7일과 8일, 2차전은 4월14일과 15일에 열리게 됩니다.

준결승전에 진출하는 4개 팀은 8강 추첨시 미리 짜여진 대진에 의해 준결승 상대가 결정되며, 2주 후 4월28일과 29일 그리고 5월5일과 6일에 각각 1,2차전이 치뤄집니다.

Final draw
A further small draw ceremony will also define whether the winner of semi-final 1 or the winner of semi-final 2 will be considered, for administrative purposes, as the 'home' team at the final to be played on Wednesday 27 May at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome at 20.45CET.

결승전의 대진 추첨은 형식상의 목적으로 치뤄지며(어느팀이 홈팀의 권리를 얻는지를 결정짓는 정도), 결승에 오른 두 팀은 오는 5월27일 20시45분(한국시각 28일 오전 3시45분)에 로마 스타디오 올림피코에서 결승전을 치룰 예정입니다.

UEFA Cup draw
The same procedure will apply for the draw for the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the UEFA Cup. The quarter-final matches will be played on 9 and 16 April, and the semi-finals on 30 April and 7 May. The final match will take place at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium in Istanbul on Wednesday 20 May at 21.45 local time (20.45CET).
