Magpie, magpie, high in the sky
You built a bridge where the stars fly by.

Didn't you help the Cowherd so bright,
Meet the Weaver girl under the soft moonlight?

Magpie, magpie, clever and true,
Build me a bridge that I can use too.
My friend’s far away, but I miss her each day,
Build me a bridge so I can go play.

Magpie, magpie, graceful and light,
Build me a bridge that shines through the night.
My friend’s heart seems so far from mine,
Let me cross to them, time after time.

Magpie, magpie, your song’s so sweet,
But a bridge to my friends would be such a treat.
In every dream, both day and night,
Help me visit them, and make things right.

견우와 직녀가 서로 만나라고

밤하늘 은하수에 오작교도 놓아주지 않았니?

몸이 멀리 멀리 떠나간 동무

날마다 오갈 수 있게 다리 좀 놓아다오

너는 다리를 잘 놓지

맘이 멀리 멀리 떠나간 동무

밤마다 오갈 수 있게 다리 좀 놓아다오

까치야, 까치야,

너는 다리를 잘 놓지

공짜로 들으라는 네 노래도 좋지만

꿈마다 동무들과 서로 오갈 수 있게 다리 하나 놓아다오.
