This semester, Year 8 MYP Design students tackled the challenge of balancing form and function through a real‑world lens.

They began by exploring light poverty, understanding how poor lighting affects learning and community life, then brainstormed and sketched lighting solutions that are both practical and visually engaging.

Finally, they crafted prototypes—functional lighting units with thoughtful aesthetics—to ensure their creations not only illuminate spaces but also inspire users while adhering to design principles. Their process fostered empathy, creativity, and technical know‑how in true design‑thinking style.

이번 학기에 8학년 MYP 디자인 학생들은 실제 렌즈를 통해 형태와 기능의 균형을 맞추는 과제에 도전했습니다.
그들은 처음에 빛의 빈곤을 탐구하고, 저조한 조명이 학습과 공동체 생활에 어떻게 영향을 미치는지 이해한 다음, 실용적이고 시각적으로 흥미로운 조명 솔루션을 브레인스토밍하고 스케치했습니다.
마침내 그들은 디자인 원칙을 준수하면서 공간을 조명할 뿐만 아니라 사용자에게 영감을 주기 위해 사려 깊은 미적 감각을 갖춘 기능성 조명 장치인 프로토타입을 제작했습니다. 이 과정을 통해 진정한 디자인 사고 스타일의 공감, 창의성, 기술적 노하우를 함양할 수 있었습니다.
