My Moderator Announcement
Alright, a lot of members on here know that I am a somewhat hands-off moderator and will rarely remove a comment/post, as long as it's well thought and respectful, I don't care if it's downvoted a lot and poorly received. (Usually spam or non K-Variety/Reality show will be removed).
I do direct members now & then about their posts and give a warning.
Members either like or hate the way I moderate, but that's why there are others as well.
However, lately there has been a poor attitude towards one another in threads (especially the Running Man weekly episode threads) in this Korean Variety (and Reality Show) subreddit.
So now, I am starting to ban members for 7 days at first. Not 1 or 3, but 7 days so you'll miss the next weekly show thread to cool down & think.
No mutes or whatever, it's a straight 7 days ban from me. I will not hear an appeal, if I ban you for 7 days. Maybe another mod will remove or shorten it, but if I ban you, there's a reason.
I became a moderator because there was a post asking for help, and I previously ran a small car group board in the past...so I have experience in moderating.
Also, I was posting a few weekly threads for shows.
I used to moderate more actively, but a work position change made it so I'm not sitting bored at work anymore, so I actually have to work.
This group is supposed to be a fun place for everyone to share their views on Korean Variety & Reality Shows now.
I'm not stating that everyone needs to agree and have positive views of the shows, but be respectful of one another's views. Yes, you can disagree and post your opposite view, but one doesn't have to be disrespectful about it.
99% of the time, everyone on here gets along well, sharing viewpoints with no issues.
I'm getting more notifications from members now & it's time for me to start being a little more stricter on things for a while.
Some people believe that this subreddit is not moderated, which isn't true. It's just that we're more lenient (I am) and want members to post.
If I started removing/deleting posts & banning members.....there would be complaints about views being silenced. Now that it's been maybe too lenient, members think they can post whatever.
