1 Since you have been raised /to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven,
where Christ sits /in the place of honor /at God’s right hand.
Since 때문에 you 너희가 have been raised 올려졌었기에 to new life 새로운 삶으로 with Christ 그리스도와 함께,
set 맞추라 your sights 너희의 시각을 on the realities 현실에 of heaven 천국의,
where 거긴 Christ 그리스도께서 sits 좌정하시고 계신 곳이다 in the place 장소에 of honor 영광
at God’s right hand
* Since ; for the reason that; because.
* have + be + pp 수동완료
* 능동문 God has raised you to new life /with Christ.
* set your sights on ; To identify, regard, or focus on someone or something as one's goal. 촛점을 맞추다
* the realities of heaven/God 하나님께도 현실이 있다는 말이 이상하게 들린다면
2 Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.
2 Think 생각하라 about the things 일들에 대해 of heaven 천국의, not the things 일들이 아니고 of earth 이 땅의.
* In many contexts, think of and think about are effectively interchangeable.
In other contexts, to think of something means you're at least aware of the thing,
but may not have given it a great deal of consideration.
If you think about something this normally implies more focussed or extended attention.
* think of는 잠깐 생각하기나 think about는 곰곰 생각하
3 For you died /to this life, and your real life is hidden /with Christ in God.
3 For 왜냐면 you 너희는 died 죽었기에 to this life 이런 삶/옛사람에 대해,
and your real life 너희의 진짜 삶은 is hidden 숨겨져 있기에 with Christ 그리스도와 함께 in God 하나님 안에.
* die to ; To become indifferent:
4 And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed /to the whole world, you will share in [all his glory].
4 And when 그때 Christ 그리스도께서, who 그분은 is your life 너희의 삶이신 분인데,
is revealed 드러내 지실/나타내실 때 to the whole world 전 세상에게,
you 너희는 will share in 나눌 것이다 all his glory 그분의 모든 영광을.
* 삽입절/형절 who is your life, 설명 추가 역할
* share in ; if you share in someone’s success, happiness etc, you have it or enjoy it with them 같이 누리다
* share ; to have or use something with other people 나누어 가지다
5 So put to death [the sinful, earthly things /lurking within you].
Have [nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires].
Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.
5 So 그러므로 put to death 사형시키라 the sinful 죄질의, earthly 땅/세상적 things 일들을
lurking 웅크리고 있는 within you 너희 안에.
Have 가지지/하지 마라 nothing 아무것도 to do 관계하려는 with sexual immorality 성적 문란과, impurity 부정함과,
lust 탐욕과, and evil desires 사악한 욕망과.
Don’t be 되지 마라 greedy 탐욕스럽게,
for 왜냐면 a greedy person 탐욕스러운 사람은 is 이기에 an idolater 우상 숭배자,
worshiping 숭배하는 the things 물건/일들을 of this world 이 세상의.
* 숙어 put to death = kill
* 목적인 명사구 the sinful, earthly things /lurking within you 형+형+명+형/분사구
* 숙어 have nothing to do with : to not involve someone or something:
have no contact or dealings with, be no business or concern of.
* 형역 분사구 /lurking within you 현분사의 능동 주체인 things 수식
/worshiping the things of this world 현분사의 능동 주체인 a greedy person 주어 수식
6 Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming.
6 Because 때문에 of these sins 이 모든 죄악, the anger of God 하나님의 분노가 is coming 오고 있다.
Sometimes, we use the Present Continuous to say that we are in the process of doing a longer action which is in progress;
however, we might not be doing it at this exact second.
Sometimes, speakers use the Present Continuous to indicate that something will or will not happen in the near future.
7 You used to do [these things] /when your life was still part of this world.
7 You 너희는 used to do 하곤 했었다 these things 이런 일들을
/when 그때 your life 너희 삶이 was still 여전히 part 일부였을 때 of this world 이 세상의.
* used to~ 하곤 했다는 의미의 숙어이므로 본동사는 부정사인 do
* “Part of” means that the “part” is intrinsic to the object;
* 비교 'a part of' is close in meaning to 'a piece of 여러 개로 구성된 집합체의 한 부분/조각
8 But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language.

11 In this new life,
it doesn’t matter /if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free.
Christ is all that matters, and he lives /in all of us.
11 In this new life 이런 새 삶 안에서는,
it 그것이 doesn’t matter 중요하지 않다 if 혹시 you 너희가 are a Jew 유대인인지 or a Gentile 이방인인지,

and forgive 용서하라 anyone 누구든지 who offends 모욕하는 you 너희를.

And always be thankful.
15 And let 하게 하라 the peace 평강이 that 그건 comes 오는 from Christ 그리스도께로부터 rule 다스리게
in your hearts 너희 마음에서.
For 왜냐면 as members 구성원으로서 of one body 한 몸의 you 너희는 are called 소명받았다 to live 살도록

23 Work willingly at whatever you do,
as though you were working for the Lord /rather than for people.
