Autobiographical fiction for Rawls’ childhood in the Ozarks, Oklahoma

Several schools and states had banned this book in the school library because it is highly possible to create traumatic sadness and negative influence caused violence and unexpected deaths of dogs to kids.

1.   ① General impression / ② The most impressive scene

2.   How do you understand the relationship between a dog and a human (or any other animal pet)?
- From Old Dan, we can see that dogs show a kind of true (unconditional) love.
- They sometimes die earlier than humans.
- In Korea, Pet industry is getting bigger and bigger. What do you think about the pet culture in Korea?

3.   How do you understand the hunting culture in America? Recently, due to increasing gun violence in the USA, do you think people should still be allowed to have gun, even though gun violence is now a leading cause of child death?

4.   Billy is so gritty. He seems to be born with grit, not taught it by his parents. 
Grit is the key factor for success. How can we develop more grit to reach our goals like Billy?
