어떤이에게는 성령으로 말미암아 지혜의 말씀을, 어떤이에게는 같은 성령을 따라 지식의 말씀을, 다른이에게는 같은 성령으로 믿음을, 어떤이에게는 한 성령으로 병 고치는 은사를, 어떤이에게는 능력 행함을, 어떤이에게는 예언함을, 어떤이에게는 영들 분별함을, 다른이에게는 각종 방언 말함을, 어떤이에게는 방언들 통역함을 주시나니 이 모든 일은 같은 한 성령이 행하사 그 뜻대로 각 사람에게 나눠 주시느니라 몸은 하나인데 많은 지체가 있고 몸의 지체가 많으나 한 몸임과 같이 그리스도도 그러하니라 우리가 유대인이나 헬라인이나 종이나 자유자나 다 한 성령으로 세례를 받아 한 몸이 되었고 또 다 한 성령을 마시게 하셨느니라

예수를 믿고 회개할 때 성령께서 우리에게 임하십니다. 그러나 성령께서 주시는 은사는 사람마다 서로 다릅니다. 어떤 사람에게는 지식과 지혜의 은사를 주시고, 어떤 사람에게는 영을 분별하고 귀신을 쫓아내는 은사를 주시며, 또 어떤 사람에게는 병을 고치고 능력을 행하는 은사를 주십니다. 어떤 사람에게는 예언하는 은사를, 또 어떤 사람에게는 방언을 말하거나 통역하는 은사를 주십니다. 이 외에도 성령께서 주시는 은사는 매우 다양합니다.

하나님께서는 자신의 뜻대로 각 사람에게 알맞은 은사를 나누어 주십니다. 인간이 스스로 원하는 은사를 선택하여 받는 것이 아닙니다. 몸은 하나이지만 많은 지체로 이루어져 있습니다. 각각의 지체는 서로 유기적인 관계를 이루며 결국 하나의 몸을 형성합니다.

그리스도는 한 분이십니다. 모든 교회는 그리스도의 몸입니다. 세상에는 많은 교회가 있지만, 모든 교회는 오직 예수 그리스도의 말씀을 따라 움직여야 합니다. 교회 안에는 헬라인도 있고 유대인도 있으며, 자유한 자도 있고 종도 있습니다. 그러나 모두가 예수 그리스도 안에서 한 몸을 이루는 지체이며, 믿음의 형제들입니다.

우리는 모두 예수 그리스도의 피로 죄 사함을 받고, 동일하신 성령으로부터 은사를 받으며, 한 분이신 창조주 하나님을 섬깁니다. 창조주는 한 분이시며 영이신 하나님이십니다. 그 창조주 하나님께서 인간의 몸을 입고 예수 그리스도로 세상에 오셨고, 예수를 믿는 자들에게는 성령으로 임하셔서 우리 안에 항상 함께 거하십니다.

여호와와 예수님과 성령님은 서로 다른 세 분의 하나님이 아니라, 한 분 하나님께서 구원의 역사를 이루시는 가운데 나타내시는 이름과 역사입니다. 창조주 하나님께서는 죄 가운데 있는 인간을 구원하시고 천국으로 인도하시기 위하여 여러 방식으로 구원의 사역을 이루시는 것입니다.

한 분이신 하나님을 둘이나 셋으로 나누어 믿게 되면 하나님의 참된 존재를 바로 믿기 어렵습니다. 예수 그리스도께서 육체를 입고 오신 하나님 자신이라는 성경의 말씀을 믿지 않는다면 죄 사함을 받을 수 없습니다. 만일 예수 그리스도를 피조물이라고 한다면, 피조물은 인간의 죄를 사할 수 없습니다. 오직 창조주 하나님만이 인간의 죄를 사하실 수 있습니다.

예수 그리스도께서는 구약 시대에도 안식일의 주인이셨습니다. 이 말씀은 예수 그리스도께서 구약 시대에 여호와 하나님으로 역사하셨음을 증거합니다.

마태복음 12:7-8

For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another the discerning of spirits; to another various kinds of tongues; and to another the interpretation of tongues.

But all these works are performed by one and the same Spirit, who distributes to each person individually according to His will. For as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of that one body, though they are many, form one body, so also is Christ. For whether we are Jews or Greeks, slaves or free, we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.

When we believe in Jesus and repent, the Holy Spirit comes upon us. However, the gifts given by the Holy Spirit differ from person to person. To some, He gives the gifts of knowledge and wisdom. To others, He gives the gifts of discerning spirits and casting out demons. To others, He gives the gifts of healing the sick and performing miracles. To some, He gives the gift of prophecy, and to others, He gives the gifts of speaking in tongues or interpreting tongues. In addition to these, the gifts given by the Holy Spirit are very diverse.

God distributes suitable gifts to each person according to His own will. Human beings do not choose and receive whichever gifts they desire. The body is one, but it is made up of many members. Each member is organically connected with the others, and together they ultimately form one body.

Christ is one. All churches are the body of Christ. Although there are many churches in the world, every church must move only according to the Word of Jesus Christ. Within the church, there are Greeks and Jews, free people and slaves. However, all are members who form one body in Jesus Christ, and they are brothers and sisters in the faith.

We all receive forgiveness of sins through the blood of Jesus Christ, receive gifts from the same Holy Spirit, and serve the one Creator God. The Creator is one, and He is God who is Spirit. That Creator God put on a human body and came into the world as Jesus Christ. He comes as the Holy Spirit to those who believe in Jesus and always dwells within us.

Jehovah, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are not three different Gods. They are the names and works through which the one God reveals Himself while accomplishing the work of salvation. The Creator God carries out His saving work in various ways in order to save human beings from sin and lead them into the kingdom of heaven.

When people divide the one God into two or three persons and believe in Him in that way, it becomes difficult for them to understand and believe rightly in the true existence of God. If they do not believe the words of Scripture that Jesus Christ is God Himself who came in the flesh, they cannot receive forgiveness of sins. If Jesus Christ were a created being, a created being could not forgive the sins of humanity. Only the Creator God can forgive human sins.

Jesus Christ was also the Lord of the Sabbath in the Old Testament period. This statement testifies that Jesus Christ worked as Jehovah God during the Old Testament period.

**Matthew 12:7–8**

“But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.”

The Bible clearly declares that Jehovah God of the Old Testament put on a human body and came into the world as Jesus Christ. Therefore, dividing the existence of God into two or three persons means not accepting as it is the revelation of God testified to in the Scriptures.
