  2. Thoughts on Today's Verse

  What 1)foe can defeat the people of God? None! Our God, our 2)Deliverer, is mighty in power, awesome in

holiness, and greater than any of our foes. We refuse to fear what the 3)evil one threatens because our Savior has already 4)ultimately defeated him.

  어떤 적(foe)이 하나님의 백성을 이길 수 있습니까? 아무도 없습니다! 우리 하나님, 우리 구원자께서는 권능으로 강력하시며 거룩함으로 두려우신 분이며, 우리의 어떤 대적들보다 위대하십니다. 사탄의 협박에 두려워하지 않고 굴하지 않는 것은, 우리 구원자께서 이미 그를 온전히 패배시켰기 때문입니다.

    * Is there the difference between the words "foe" and "enemy"?

      - There is a subtle difference between the two words. Foe is considered a more politically correct term, as well as a more literary or poetic one. You might also say that foe has a softer feeling to it than enemy. A person might be your foe, but you can still be friendly, but with an enemy you would expect there to be hate or violence

between them.
