네이버가 엔비디아와 주권인공지능(Soverign AI)에 대해 협력을 강화하기로 했습니다.

주권 AI는 각국이  AI 기술을 개발·생산해 AI 자원에 대한 완전한 통제를 가능하게 하는 역량을 말합니다.
엔비디아의 시가총액은 마이크로소프트, 애플에 이어 미국에서 3위 입니다.
젠슨 황 엔비디아 창업자는 최근 이재용 삼성회장, 최태원 SK회장 등도 만났습니다.

Top executives from Naver and Nvidia emphasized the importance of securing “sovereign artificial intelligence (AI)” and pledged to enhance collaboration in AI projects, Korea’s leading internet portal operator said Friday.
네이버와 엔비디아의 최고 경영진이 '주권 인공지능(AI)' 확보의 중요성을 강조하고 AI 프로젝트 협력 강화를 약속했다고 한국의 대표적인 인터넷 포털 사업자가 금요일 밝혔다.

Sovereign AI refers to each nation's capability to autonomously develop and produce AI technologies, thereby enabling complete control over AI resources, including data and workforce, using their own resources.
주권 AI는 각국이 자율적으로 AI 기술을 개발·생산해 자국 자원을 활용해 데이터와 인력 등 AI 자원에 대한 완전한 통제를 가능하게 하는 역량을 말한다.

This was the first meeting for Lee Hae-jin, global investment officer and founder of Naver, along with its top management, to meet with Nvidia founder Jensen Huang. They exchanged ideas on developing advanced joint AI business models. Naver CEO Choi Soo-yeon also participated in the meeting with the Nvidia chief.
이것은 이해진 글로벌 투자 책임자이자 네이버 창업자이자 최고 경영진과 함께 엔비디아 창업자 젠슨 황을 만난 첫 번째 회의였다. 그들은 발전된 공동 인공지능 비즈니스 모델을 개발하는 것에 대한 생각을 교환했다. 네이버 CEO 최수연도 엔비디아 CEO와의 회의에 참여했다.

The concept of sovereign AI is increasingly emphasized by major big tech companies, as it allows AI models to be more advanced by incorporating regional cultures, languages, and even values into their development.
주요 빅테크 기업들은 지역의 문화와 언어, 나아가 가치관을 개발에 접목해 AI 모델을 더욱 고도화할 수 있도록 하는 등 주권 AI 개념을 점차 강조하고 있다.

Naver stands at the forefront of the sovereign AI business in Korea, particularly after developing the HyperCLOVA X large language model. The internet firm continues to enhance its performance, particularly in terms of security.
네이버는 특히 HyperCLOVA X 대규모 언어 모델을 개발한 후 한국에서 국가 AI 사업의 선두에 서 있다. 이 인터넷 회사는 특히 보안 측면에서 성능을 계속 강화하고 있다.

“Naver’s top executives discussed the importance of sovereign AI and strategies to develop AI models that effectively incorporate cultural values specific to each region,” an official at Naver said. The meeting took place at Nvidia’s headquarters in Santa Clara, Calif., Tuesday (local time).
네이버 관계자는 "네이버 최고경영진이 주권 AI의 중요성과 각 지역에 특화된 문화적 가치를 효과적으로 접목한 AI 모델 개발 전략에 대해 논의했다"고 밝혔다. 이날 회의는 화요일(현지시간) 미국 캘리포니아주 샌타클래라에 위치한 엔비디아 본사에서 열렸다.

Both companies have consistently emphasized the importance of sovereign AI. Therefore, they will closely collaborate to develop various AI models that respect the cultural values of each regional society, according to the official.
두 회사는 지속적으로 주권 AI의 중요성을 강조해왔다. 따라서 그들은 각 지역 사회의 문화적 가치를 존중하는 다양한 AI 모델을 개발하기 위해 긴밀히 협력할 것이라고 관계자는 말했다.

Nvidia specializes in providing hardware infrastructure for global big tech firms to develop AI models, while Naver is heavily investing in enhancing its AI capabilities, particularly focusing on Korean language models. Naver utilizes Nvidia’s AI chips to power its services.
엔비디아는 글로벌 빅테크 기업들이 AI 모델을 개발할 수 있도록 하드웨어 인프라를 제공하는 데 전문적인 반면, 네이버는 특히 한국어 모델에 초점을 맞춘 AI 역량 강화에 많은 투자를 하고 있다. 네이버는 서비스에 전력을 공급하기 위해 엔비디아의 AI 칩을 활용한다.
