금지하다(forbid)의 사촌들

forbid, prohibit, ban. : 방해하다, 금하다, 제지하다.
어법	forbid : 주로 사람이 직접적으로 금하는 경우에 쓰인다. prohibit : 법류이나 법칙에 의해서 공적으로 금지하다. ban : 법률, 도덕적인 이유 등에 의해서 금지하다.
예문	My father forbade us children to come home after eight at night. (나의 아버지는 우리가 밤 8시이후에 집어 오는 것을 금하셨다.) Minors are prohibited from drinking and smoking in almost all Asian countries, but there are many exceptions in many countries. (거의 모든 아시아 국가들에서  미성년자들이 음주와 흡연은 금지되어있으나 많은 나라에서 예외는 있다.) The people in that country have been banned from travelling. (그나라 사람들이 외국에 나가는 것은 금지되어 있다.) My teacher prevented us from going out in the river and catching the fish. (나의 선생님은 우리들이 강가에 나가서 물고기를 잡는 것을 막았다.)
