Dear Pastors and Leaders,
Don’t you feel that this year has gone by so quickly? The great 40th
Anniversary events for Yankee Stadium and Washington Monument have been
successfully completed. We’ve received the grace of the four great holy items.
In the public sphere, the campaign for US President will mercifully soon be
over. And most importantly, just 40 days from today, we will welcome True
Mother back to Washington DC and to New York to share True Parents’ vision of
peace and America’s anointed role in the providence of God.
Back in August at the time of the 4th Seonghwa anniversary, True Mother asked
the leaders of many nations to share our strategic plans and goals for 2020.
She blessed us and told us to take those plans home and work on taking the next
steps toward implementation. We started that process with the District Pastors
in Washington DC, and with the National Council in Dallas. Most districts have
already discussed the plan and made local goals and commitments. That’s
important, of course: without local ownership, any plan is only aspirational.
We’ve just received the attached memo and reminder from our International
Office that it’s time to step up and declare our national commitment to this
plan—and to the wider 2020 vision—by holding formal ‘kickoff meetings’ around
the country. As you can see, the official start date is November 1, which also
marks 100 Days until the Fourth Anniversary of Foundation Day. This is the
beginning of the “Second Half” of our seven-year journey to 2020 that True
Mother announced right after True Father’s holy ascension in 2012.
Please study the attached memo which gives clear and helpful guidelines for
these kickoff ceremonies. In addition, HQ will be providing artwork materials
that will be helpful for you in planning these simple but important events.
Note the option to perform the kickoff ceremony in advance of November 1, with
Sunday, October 30, as a good choice. Many communities are already planning to
use that Sunday to observe the two upcoming Holy Days, True Children’s Day and KaeCheonIl.
It should be pretty straightforward to add the additional recommended
components from the memo into these programs. Let’s keep it simple and
uplifting!
As always, we want to quickly make a clear report of our events, so please collect
and submit the following information on the same day: place and date of
ceremony, number of people attending, and some photos with the official banner.
It will be great if two or three people from each community can also send a
short (50-75 word) representative testimony of their own commitment and
inspiration.
Moving forward from that day, please encourage all members to join us in making
a national 100 day condition of devotion in preparation for the 4th Anniversary
of Foundation Day, February 9, 2017.
Thank you again for your steadfast support and loyalty,
