Bible Reading - Acts 5:21~31

5:21 At daybreak they entered the temple courts, as they had been told, and began to teach the people. 그들은 지시받은대로 새벽에 성전 마당으로 들어가서 사람들을 가르치기 시작했다.

When the high priest and his associates arrived, they called together the Sanhedrin--the full assembly of the elders of Israel--and sent to the jail for the apostles.

대제사장과 그의 동료들이 도착하자, 그들은 이스라엘 장로들의 전체 회의인 산헤드린을 소집하고 감옥에 있는 사람들에게 사도들을 데려오라고 사람을 보냈다.

5:22 But on arriving at the jail, the officers did not find them there. 

그러나 감옥에 도착했을 때, 그 관원들은 그들을 거기서 발견하지 못했다.

So they went back and reported, 그래서 그들은 돌아가서 보고했다.

5:23 "We found the jail securely locked, with the guards standing at the doors; 

우리는 감옥 문이 굳게 잠겨 있고, 간수들이 문 앞에 서 있는 것을 발견했습니다.

but when we opened them, we found no one inside."

그러나 우리가 그 문들을 열었을 때, 우리는 안에 아무도 없는 것을 발견했습니다.

5:24 On hearing this report, the captain of the temple guard and the chief priests were puzzled, wondering what would come of this.

이 보고를 들은 사원 경비대장과 최고 사제들은 당황하며 앞으로 무슨 일이 벌어질지 궁금해했다.

5:25 Then someone came and said, 그때 어떤 사람이 와서 말했다.

"Look! The men you put in jail are standing in the temple courts teaching the people."

보십시오! 당신들이 감옥에 가두었던 그 사람들이 사람들을 가르치면서 성전 마당에 서있는 중입니다. 

5:26 At that, the captain went with his officers and brought the apostles.

그때 대장이 그의 관원들과 함께 가서 사도들을 데려왔다.

They did not use force, because they feared that the people would stone them.

그들은 사람들이 돌을 던질까 두려워 무력을 사용하지 않았다.

5:27 Having brought the apostles, 사도들을 데려와서 

they made them appear before the Sanhedrin to be questioned by the high priest.

그들은 그들을 산헤드린 앞에 세워 대제사장의 심문을 받게 했다.

5:28 "We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name," he said.

그는 "우리는 이 이름으로 가르치지 말라고 엄격한 명령을 너희들에게 주었다."고 말했다.

 "Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man's blood." "

그러나 너희들은 예루살렘을 너희들의 가르침으로 가득 채우고, 이 사람의 피에 대한 죄를 우리에게 뒤집어씌우려 작정하였다."

5:29 Peter and the other apostles replied: "We must obey God rather than men!

베드로와 다른 사도들이 대답했다."우리는 사람보다 하나님께 순종해야 한다."

5:30 The God of our fathers raised Jesus from the dead-- whom you had killed by hanging him on a tree.

우리 조상들의 하나님께서 너희가 나무 위에 매달아 죽였던 예수를 죽은 자들로부터 올리우셨다.

5:31 God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might give repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel.

하나님께서는 그를 자신의 오른편에 높이 올려 왕자와 구원자로 삼으셨으니, 이는 그가 이스라엘에게 회개와 죄 사함을 주시도록 하기 위함이었다.
