Repent of the impurity of your lips. <Summary>
<Isaiah 6:5-7> 2026.9.6. <Sunday> Osaka Sarang Church, Pastor Kim Ho-il.
<Isaiah 6:5–7> Then I said, “Burn, O Lord, for I am doomed.” I am a person with unclean lips. While living among the people whose lips were unclean, I saw the king, the LORD of hosts. At that time one of the seraphim came flying toward me with a lit wick he had taken from the altar of the furnace, and he put it to my mouth and said, “Look, this has reached your mouth: your wickedness has been set free, and your sin has been forgiven.” This statement was made by the prophet Isaiah after he had seen the glory of God while praying in the temple. The prophet Isaiah is a furnace. Confessing that I have fallen into ruin, I am a person whose lips are unclean. It was a confession that his lips were lying among the unclean people. The meaning of this statement is that although His own lips are unclean, so are the lips of His people. In the end, everyone’s lips are denying it. Therefore, we must realize that our own lips are unclean, repent, be washed, and be healed. You must acknowledge that your lips are unclean. To have a dishonest lip means not being able to convey the truth. It means that I am unable to convey the word that God desires. It means expressing one’s own thoughts and ideas. It means that, in order to please people, they are unable to preach the biblical Word and the Word that moves the Holy Spirit. In other words, they are saying things that make the other person fall, complaining and expressing dissatisfaction without being grateful. These are unclean lips. When God created man, He made a mouth. The mouth of a beast serves only to eat and to make noise, whereas the mouth of a human serves both to eat and to communicate through speech. It was given to us to praise God and express our thanks with our lips. God has given the power of blessing to our lips. But Satan tempted Adam and Eve, caused them to disobey God’s promise and fall away, and then had them speak the words of the curse with human lips. Therefore, in every person’s mouth are the authority of the blessing God has given and the authority of the curse given by the devil. Therefore, when we speak words of blessing to people and we hear words of blessing, blessings come pouring in; but when we speak words of curse and we hear words of curse, curses come pouring in. Therefore, one must not take lightly the words of blessing and curse that come from people’s mouths. Also, the words of blessing and curse that come from one’s own mouth should not be taken lightly. We must know that the words of our lips can also ruin our own lives. God gave the words of the lips to us humans so that we may bless God. Therefore, we should give thanks to God, who saved me with our lips. But he is saying what Satan likes and saying things that hurt people. That is why our mouths are impure. Our lips have become accustomed to complaining because of their corruption. The devil knows our weaknesses like this and tempts us to complain whenever there is an opportunity. But even if they complained, they must quickly recognize their mistake, repent for the complaint that slipped from their own mouths, and break it apart in Jesus’ name. In Jesus’ name, when you bind up the spirit of complaint and resolve never to complain again, your complaints will lessen. Complaints stir up a whirlwind in the air, and if they continue without repentance, they become an even stronger whirlwind that attacks oneself. There are also times when we hear complaints through others or unpleasant remarks.  If you harbor it in your heart and remain angry, you will suffer the blow of being knocked down by a whirlwind over your own head. Just lying words. Bad rumors, huh. You must not harbor bad dreams in your heart Therefore, when you hear something offensive, you should immediately smash it in Jesus’ name and not remember it.
