삼성전자 노조가 무기한 파업을 선언했습니다.

삼성전자는 몇 년전까지만 해도 업계 최고대우로 노조가 없는 회사로 유명했습니다.

노조원들의 요구사항은 기본급 5.6%인상, 노조창립일 휴무보장, 파업에 따른 손실 보전 등입니다.

직원평균급여가 1억2천만원인 삼성노조의 요구사항은 라이더 유니온 등 영세업자들의 노조와 많이 다릅니다.

Unionized workers at Samsung Electronics, staging the biggest labor action in the technology giant's 55-year history, declared an "indefinite general strike" Wednesday, stepping up pressure over their demand for a pay raise.
삼성전자 55년 역사상 최대 규모의 노동운동을 벌이고 있는 삼성전자 노조원들이 수요일 임금인상 요구에 대한 압박을 강화하며 '무기한 총파업'을 선언했다.

After a three-day strike scheduled to come to an end Wednesday, the National Samsung Electronics Union, the largest labor union at the world's largest memory chipmaker, had planned to stage another five-day strike, starting July 15.
수요일로 예정된 3일간의 파업이 끝난 후, 세계 최대의 메모리 반도체 회사의 최대 노조인 전국 삼성전자 노조는 7월 15일부터 다시 5일간의 파업을 벌일 계획이었다.

But the union said it changed its plan to go straight to an indefinite strike as the company did not attempt to engage in any dialogue during the three-day strike.
그러나 노조는 회사가 3일간의 파업 기간 동안 어떠한 대화도 시도하지 않음에 따라 무기한 파업에 돌입하기로 계획을 변경했다고 밝혔다.

"We need your determination to advance our goal and victory" the NSEU told its members, urging them not to report to work until the executive directive.
삼전노(NSEU)는 노조원들에게 "우리의 목표와 승리를 앞당기기 위한 여러분의 결단이 필요하다."며 행정명령이 있기 전까지는 출근보고를 하지 말 것을 촉구했다.

The NSEU said more than 6,000 members had expressed their intention to participate in the labor action. More than 5,000 of them were from the mainstream semiconductor division, it added.
NSEU는 6천명 이상의 노조원이 노동운동에 참여하겠다는 의사를 밝혔다고 밝혔다. 이 중 5천명 이상이 주류 반도체 사업부 출신이라고 덧붙였다.

The union's demands for the general strike include a 5.6 percent basic pay raise for all members, a guaranteed day off on the union's founding day and compensation for economic losses due to the strike.
노조가 요구하는 총파업 요구안은 전 조합원 기본급 5.6% 인상, 노조창립일 휴무 보장, 파업에 따른 경제적 손실 보전 등이다.

This is a reduction from the NSEU's previous demand of a 6.5 percent pay hike over the past few months.
이는 지난 몇 달간 삼전노(삼성전자노동조합:NSEU)가 6.5%의 임금 인상을 요구했던 것보다 줄어든 것이다.

In contrast, Samsung Electronics' management and employees had agreed to an average 5.1 percent pay raise for 2024 in March.
반면 삼성전자 경영진과 직원들은 지난 3월 2024년 평균 5.1% 임금 인상에 합의한 바 있다.

Despite the ongoing strike, Samsung Electronics said there have been no disruptions to production during the first three days of labor action.
파업이 계속되고 있음에도 불구하고 삼성전자는 노동행동이 시작된 첫 3일 동안 생산에 차질이 없었다고 밝혔다.

The company said it is considering hiring replacement workers to cover for absent employees.
회사측은 결근 직원들의 공백을 메우기 위해 대체 인력 채용을 고려하고 있다고 밝혔다.

"We plan to thoroughly prepare to ensure that production is not disrupted," a Samsung Electronics official said. "We will continue efforts to resume dialogue with the union."
삼성전자 관계자는 "생산에 차질이 없도록 철저히 준비할 계획"이라며 "노조와 대화 재개를 위한 노력을 지속할 것"이라고 말했다.

Insiders note that while the strike appears to be dragging on, the possibility of a settlement remains.
내부에서는 파업이 길어지는 모양새지만 타결 가능성은 여전하다는 점에 주목하고 있다.

The NSEU was designated as the representative bargaining unit in August last year at Samsung Electronics, which has five labor unions, including the NSEU.
삼전노(NSEU)는 삼전노(NSEU) 등 5개 노조가 소속된 삼성전자에서 지난해 8월 대표교섭단위로 지정됐다.


With this representative status set to expire in August, the NSEU is expected to return to the negotiating table.
이 대표 지위가 오는 8월 만료될 예정이어서 삼전노(NSEU)는 협상 테이블로 복귀할 것으로 보인다.

The NSEU reports a total membership of 31,000, accounting for approximately 24 percent of Samsung Electronics' total workforce of about 125,000. (Yonhap)
