In an unprecedented move in the world of professional sports, the ABA Nashville Rhythm officially announced that their head coach for the next season will be Ashley McElhiney, the first female head coach of a men"s professional basketball team. McElhiney, 22, a Tennessee native, was an All-Southeastern Conference (SEC) college performer for the Vanderbilt Commodores in 2002 and 2003, won Vanderbilt"s most outstanding defensive player award three years in a row, and was named to Vanderbilt"s All Century team.
