고린도후서 4:16-18 그러므로 우리가 낙심하지 아니하노니 겉사람은 후패하나 우리의 속은 날로 새롭도다 우리의 잠시 받는 환난의 경한 것이 지극히 크고 영원한 영광의 중한 것을 우리에게 이루게 함이니 우리의 돌아보는 것은 보이는 것이 아니요 보이지 않는 것이니 보이는 것은 잠간이요 보이지 않는 것은 영원함이니라

그리스도인의 삶은 죄와 싸우며 순종하기를 힘쓰는 것이다. 세상의 유혹과 육신의 생각이 일어나 천국의 길을 방해 한다. 이를 이기기 위해 우리는 날마다 기도하며 영적인 훈련를 받아야 한다. 이것이 좁은 길이고 천국에 가는 길이다.

인간이 한 번 태어나고 축는 것은 하나님께서 정하신 이치다. 세상에 사는 기간은 매우 짧다. 그러나 이 기간이 매우 중요한 것은 하나닝을 믿고 그 말씀에 순종하는 자는 영원한 천국에 이르고, 믿지 않고 불순종하는 자는 영원한 지옥에 이르는 것이다.

모든 인간은 부족하다. 인간 스스로 하나님의 의에 이르지 못한다. 죄와 부족함을 회개할 때 모든 죄를 용서받고 하나님의 의와 하나님의 나라에 이르게 되는 것이다. 주님의 말씀을 따라 사는 것이 믿음의 훈련이다. 세상에서 잠시 받는 환난의 경한 것이 지극히 크고 영원한 영광을 이루는 것이다.

세상에 사는 목적은 세상 것을 많이 얻고 세상에서 영광을 누리기 위한 것이 아니다. 하나님을 믿고 하나님의 뜻을 이루고 천국에 들어가기 위해 사는 것이다. 세상에 보이는 것은 우리의 소망이 될 수 없다. 보이지 않는 천국에 들어가는 것이 우리의 소망인 것이다.

겉 사람은 시간이 지날수록 병들고 낡아진다. 나이기 들수록 육체의 모든 아름다움은 사라진다. 그러나 주님께 순종하는 자는 날마다 그 영혼이 아름다우신 주님을 닮아가는 것이다. 이 땅의 삶을 마칠 때 낡아진 육체를 벗어버리고 영원히 아름다운 부활의 새 몸을 입고 천국에 들어가는 것이다.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though our outer man is decaying, our inner man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, works for us an exceedingly great and eternal weight of glory. For we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are unseen; for the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are unseen are eternal.

The Christian life is to fight against sin and strive to obey. The temptations of the world and carnal thoughts arise and hinder the path to Heaven. To overcome this, we must pray every day and undergo spiritual training. This is the narrow path and the way to Heaven.

It is a principle established by God that humans are born once and die. The time spent in this world is very short. However, this period is very important because those who believe in God and obey His word reach eternal Heaven, while those who do not believe and disobey reach eternal Hell.

All humans are lacking. Humans cannot attain God's righteousness on their own. When we repent of our sins and shortcomings, we receive forgiveness for all our sins and attain God's righteousness and the Kingdom of God. Living according to the Lord's word is the discipline of faith. The light tribulations suffered for a moment in this world are what make up the exceedingly great and eternal glory.

The purpose of living in this world is not to acquire many worldly things or to enjoy worldly glory. It is to live to believe in God, fulfill His will, and enter Heaven. What is visible in this world cannot be our hope. Our hope is to enter the invisible Heaven.

The outer man becomes sick and worn out as time passes. As we grow older, all the beauty of the flesh fades away. However, those who obey the Lord see their souls grow to resemble the beautiful Lord day by day. When life on this earth comes to an end, we cast off our worn-out flesh, put on the new, eternally beautiful body of resurrection, and enter Heaven.
