TEAM (LAST WEEK) | REC. | BREAKDOWN | |
6 | Utah (6) | 53-27 | Off: 115.8 (1), Def: 107.9 (10) -- There's not a better way to prepare for the playoffs than to play your final six games against playoff-bound teams. At 3-1 so far (with the only loss being a nail-biter in Dallas), the Jazz are looking good so far. |
7 | Houston (7) | 54-26 | Off: 108.2 (17), Def: 102.9 (2) -- Tonight's game in Utah could very well be for home court in a 4-5 First Round series. The Rockets still also have a shot at the No. 1 seed, but they'll need help after Sunday's disappointment in Denver. |
8 | Phoenix (8) | 53-27 | Off: 115.1 (2), Def: 109.9 (17) -- Shaq: "I'm not a gamble. I'm an investment. I'm a government bond. You never lose by betting on me. Long-term government bond. I'm not high risk." We shall see very soon. |
9 | Dallas (10) | 50-31 | Off: 112.7 (7), Def: 107.7 (9) -- After Dirk's three clinched the Mavs' eighth straight playoff berth and eighth straight 50-win season, they went and lost back-to-back games in Portland and Seattle over the weekend, missing big shots down the stretch in both games. |
10 | Orlando (12) | 50-30 | Off: 112.9 (6), Def: 107.3 (8) -- Despite losses to the Knicks and T-Wolves in the last eight days, the Magic have reached 50 wins for the fourth time in franchise history and the first time since 1995-96. They'll face either Toronto or Philly in the First Round. |
11 | Denver (14) | 49-32 | Off: 111.7 (11), Def: 108.1 (12) -- A thought that crossed my mind this morning with the Nuggets needing a win or a Golden State loss to clinch: Could Denver making or missing the playoffs have had major implications around the league this summer? If they were left out, would they try to make some serious moves? They have a ton of talented assets and if they underwent a restructuring, it could have a ripple effect. |
12 | Washington (11) | 42-38 | Off: 110.6 (12), Def: 110.8 (20) -- Needing two wins and two Cavs losses (which isn't entirely out of the question when you think about it), the Wizards may rest Gilbert Arenas (who looked strong in Saturday's win over the Sixers) and Caron Butler (who sat out Saturday) tonight against the Pacers. |
13 | Philadelphia (9) | 40-40 | Off: 107.5 (19), Def: 107.0 (5) -- The Sixers beat the Pistons on Wednesday, but they'd probably like to avoid Detroit in the First Round. They're tied for sixth with Toronto, but the Raps have the tiebreaker, so they could use a little help. And getting back on stride themselves wouldn't hurt either. |
14 | Golden State (15) | 48-32 | Off: 113.4 (4), Def: 110.9 (21) -- The Warriors are playing for their season tonight in Phoenix, but even if they win, they still need help from the Grizzlies on Wednesday. If they don't make it, they can look back at Stephen Jackson's suspension and a ton of careless turnovers on Thursday against the Nuggets as completely avoidable reasons. |
15 | Atlanta (13) | 37-43 | Off: 108.3 (16), Def: 110.0 (18) -- The number is one. One Hawks' win or Pacers' loss will end the eight-year drought and give them the right to get swept by the Celtics in the First Round, which is better than the alternative. |
16 | Toronto (18) | 40-40 | Off: 112.2 (9), Def: 109.0 (14) -- Having lost 16 of their last 24 and with just one win over a playoff team since Feb. 20, the Raptors are certainly limping into the playoffs. While whether they get the six or seven seed is still very much in the air, this is not looking like a team that can win a series. Still, Bryan Colangelo isn't ready to make any decisions about his team's future. |
17 | Sacramento (16) | 38-42 | Off: 109.1 (13), Def: 111.3 (25) -- I've talked about Monta Ellis improving again in this space, but Kevin Martin has done the same (and he - not Ellis - was my pick last year). And when you add some perspective to his performance, K-Mart has to be making Kings fans happy. |
18 | Cleveland (19) | 44-36 | Off: 107.8 (18), Def: 108.1 (11) -- The Cavs get the Wizards once more, but they need another win (or Washington loss) to ensure home court again. Interesting tidbit picked up from Brian Windhorst's blog: The Cavs have been outscored by five points over their last 11 games (they're 5-6), but they're -46 with LeBron James on the floor. |
19 | Indiana (17) | 35-45 | Off: 107.5 (20), Def: 109.1 (15) -- The Pacers got big wins over the Hawks and Sixers this week, and then, with their season basically on the line, lost to the Bobcats at home? That one sealed their fate. |
20 | Portland (20) | 40-40 | Off: 108.4 (15), Def: 109.7 (16) -- Impressive wins over the Lakers and Mavs have the Blazers at 40 wins. No. 41 should come Tuesday vs. Memphis, but a winning record will be a challenge, as they finish the season in Phoenix on Wednesday. |
21 | New Jersey (21) | 33-47 | Off: 105.5 (25), Def: 111.1 (24) -- The Nets seem to have a solid young core, but they need someone stronger down low, so this will be a very interesting, and potentially eventful, summer in New Jersey. |
22 | Charlotte (22) | 31-49 | Off: 106.1 (24), Def: 111.1 (23) -- The Bobcats played spoilers on Saturday, perhaps because they were able to solve their rebounding issues, at least for a day. |
23 | Minnesota (28) | 21-59 | Off: 105.3 (26), Def: 112.9 (27) -- The T-Wolves ended their six-game losing streak with two road wins in Orlando and Memphis, with some encouraging signs, like the return of Corey Brewer. |
24 | Chicago (23) | 31-49 | Off: 104.5 (27), Def: 108.3 (13) -- After Tuesday's embarrassing loss to the Heat, Kirk Hinrich talked about his team's need to be better defensively and how they lost their defensive identity. You make look at the numbers above and think that the offense is a problem (and it certainly is), but Chicago was the best defensive team in the league last season and no other team has fallen off more defensively (7.1 more points allowed per 100 possessions). |
25 | Seattle (26) | 19-62 | Off: 101.6 (30), Def: 111.0 (22) -- It has been a rough year and I have no idea what the future holds for the Sonics, but they sure gave Seattle a thrill with Sunday's comeback win over the Mavs, closing out the Key Arena schedule. |
26 | Memphis (25) | 22-58 | Off: 107.0 (21), Def: 113.4 (28) -- With the Grizzlies currently holding the fourth most combinations in the lottery (but with teams one game to either side of them), 3 Shades of Blue had a comprehensive conversation with owner Michael Heisley about the past, present and future of the franchise. |
27 | New York (29) | 23-57 | Off: 106.2 (23), Def: 113.4 (29) -- Bringing in Donnie Walsh is clearly a good move, but immediate expectations should be tempered. The guy doesn't exactly have a lot to work with, even if the ping pong balls go his way. |
28 | Milwaukee (24) | 26-54 | Off: 106.5 (22), Def: 113.9 (30) -- Quoting my man Jeff Dengate from last year's final Power Rankings: "I repeat, there's no way Milwaukee finishes in the bottom three again next year. No way." |
29 | L.A. Clippers (27) | 23-57 | Off: 103.1 (28), Def: 110.7 (19) -- As Mike Dunleavy prepares for the summer (good thorough interview), he's more concerned about seeing Shaun Livingston get healthy than he is about the possibility of Elton Brand (who has been solid in his six games back) and Corey Maggette opting out of their contracts. |
30 | Miami (30) | 14-66 | Off: 102.0 (29), Def: 111.8 (26) -- It is said every year: When you have a 25 percent chance of winning the lottery, you have a 75 percent chance of losing it. Just ask the last three teams that had the worst record in the league. |

CNNSI.com, ESPN.com의 마지막 파워랭킹에서도 모두 1위는 보수동, 2위는 울팀이었습니다.ㅎ
아흑 보고싶다..ㅠㅠ
