Testimony for the Holy Spirit: A Summary of 34 Years of Life After Receiving the Holy Spirit 2
※ Abraham’s Posthumous Evaluation (A Good Man, a Law-abiding Man, a Man of Faith, a Friend and Companion to God)
In Genesis chapters 25 and 26, there is a crucial part regarding Abraham’s life: the posthumous evaluation by the omniscient and Almighty God, who witnessed his entire 100-year life. People are evaluated by others after they have lived and died. However, Abraham is evaluated by God. This is the most accurate evaluation of Abraham. It is the evaluation of the majestic God, which no one can challenge. We simply need to believe and follow it as it is. Furthermore, his life, worthy of such evaluation, is detailed in chapters 12 through 25. The Bible is science. Hallelujah!!
**An Abraham’s Posthumous Evaluation**
8 Abraham breathed his last and died in Sheba; he was a good old man, long-lived, and returned to his people. (Hebrew original and translation)
8 Abraham lived a long life, until he had turned white-haired, and then he passed away. (Common Translation)
8 Abraham lived out the full life he had been given, and in a very old age, when his strength was gone, he breathed his last. He gathered up and departed the world, going the way his ancestors had gone. (Standard New Translation)
8 Then Abraham breathed his last and died at a good old age, an old man and full of years; and he was gathered to his people (NIV).
Abraham breathed his last and died; he was of good old age, long-lived, and so it was all his life, and he returned to his ancestors. (NIV Translation)
And here is the Bible's explanation of a good life. Let us look at it together.
Micah 6:8 O mortal, the Lord has shown you what is good. And what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?
8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. (NIV)
Another evaluation of Abraham by God is found in Genesis 26.
26:5 This is because Abraham obeyed my word and kept with all his heart my commandments, statutes, and instruction that I commanded him to keep.
5 This is because Abraham obeyed my word and kept my commands, my commandments, my statutes, and my ordinances. (Common Translation, Revised Version)
5 because Abraham obeyed me and did everything I required of him, keeping my commands, my decrees, and my instructions. (NIV)
Abraham lived from approximately 2166 B.C. to 1991 B.C. He lived to be 175 years old. There are approximately 2,000 years before Abraham, 2,000 years after, and 2,000 years after the coming of Jesus. Abraham was evaluated as a good man, which means he lived righteously, loved, and walked humbly with God throughout his life. His righteousness is manifested in the fiery judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah. He pleaded five times to stop the righteous judgment of God. This plea stemmed from his righteous life. Justice is achieved when one follows God's laws and commands. One becomes righteous when living according to God's standards, not human standards, and Abraham always obeyed God. This is justice. When commanded to perform circumcision, he performed it on all hundreds of men. When commanded to leave, he left his homeland. When commanded to believe, he believed and acted. When commanded to offer, he offered. Is there any obedience more precious than this? Obedience is the path to becoming righteous, and he lived this way. And he loved. He lived a gentle life, never acting tyrannically toward those around him due to his authority or his encounter with God. He was also good at yielding. He yielded the foundation he had built over his lifetime to his nephew. Furthermore, he served, believed in, and revered God throughout his life. It was because he lived this way that his goodness was recognized. Genesis chapters 12–25 describe this accurately. He is the one who lived the most perfect life as a human being in human history. While we focus solely on his faith—with Protestants focusing on his faith around the age of 75–85 and Catholics on his faith at 120, leading to disputes over who is right—we must follow the example of his 100-year life lived with such firm faith in God and righteousness. We must now raise our standards and reach higher places. Furthermore, regarding faith, we must look at his 100 years of faith, taking his ever-strengthening faith and unchanging life as our model, and live accordingly.
Abraham is also evaluated by God as someone who faithfully kept God's laws, commands, and statutes. Regarding this, there may be two possible opinions, as seen earlier. One argument is that God did so because Abraham was justified by faith and his righteousness was acknowledged; the other may be the opinion that it was because he actually followed all of God's commands well. Genesis chapters 12–25 record exactly how Abraham obeyed God's commands without ceasing, not just through faith. Furthermore, God clearly stated the purpose for which He called Abraham and the commands He gave, and Abraham obeyed them. He gives a command that is perfectly identical to the one Jesus gave us: that we must keep the law.
Genesis 18:19 "I have chosen him so that he may command his children and his household to keep the way of the LORD and to do righteousness and justice, that I, the LORD, may fulfill what I have spoken concerning Abraham." (NIV)
Abraham lived a perfect life in this way, and God desired that his descendants live in the same manner. We know their history well through the historical, poetic, and prophetic books of the Pentateuch. And as prophesied in Ezekiel, Jesus came and the Holy Spirit came, causing the saints to believe in Jesus and live under the guidance of the Spirit; thus, the Apostle Paul sees the fulfillment of the law, just as Abraham did. And we also succeed in a good life as follows:
Eph 2:10 "We are God’s handiwork, created through Christ Jesus to live a good life, as He prepared it in advance." (Common Translation)
Our Korean people are the nation that best fulfilled the command to "be fruitful and multiply and subdue the earth" about 3,000 years ago. If you look at the migration of our people, it is as follows. This is our true history proven by the Bible. It is a perfectly accurate truth, completely different from the theory of evolution that originated from the limited minds of humans. Please come to this truth. You must witness the truly amazing stature of the Korean people and magnificently evangelize the whole world. There is absolutely no need to be swayed by foreign powers; rather, we are a blessed and chosen nation that must brightly illuminate China, Japan, North Korea, Russia, and various European countries with the Gospel. Hundreds of millions of human minds cannot even touch the hem of the garment of Almighty God. Please do not listen to nonsense. How can the human mind, weighing less than a few kilograms and living for less than 100 years, measure the work of the eternal God who created the entire universe, or how can it be revealed by science? We are created in the image of God and are people born again by the Holy Spirit through Jesus; therefore, we must live by the power and discernment of the Holy Spirit.
This is a summary I prepared several years ago with God's help. I have also provided a brief explanation based on my recent understanding. Furthermore, God has recently made it easy for everyone to understand through a chart. You must thoroughly understand Genesis chapters 12 through 26 regarding Abraham in order to correctly understand the passages cited later in the New Testament. If you attempt to understand faith through Romans without understanding this, the order is incorrect, and even if you were to argue with Catholicism and Protestantism for 500 years, there would be no answer. Nevertheless, I believe that these two great churches are the pride and joy of God, who created the world. To organize the Bible correctly, one must understand the content to some extent; while I did so long ago, the bolded text indicates that I marked it today based on my recent understanding. In this way, God allowed me not to engage in ministry even after becoming a pastor, and guided me to read and organize the Bible. Hallelujah! All glory belongs to God. I have compiled the Bible in the "Fifty Million People's Bible Organization Materials," covering about 95% of the entire Bible, yet there are still many shortcomings. Even though I have worked tirelessly for 30 years, it is not complete due to my laziness.
Abraham is the figure who requires the most research and the most dedication among all humans who have lived on Earth. From Abraham, the modern-day Jews—that is, Israel—were born, the Arabs appeared, and he became the ancestor of all believers in Jesus after His coming. Indeed, because he exerts influence over hundreds of billions and serves as the foremost ancestor in these matters, such research and significant material investment are necessary.
First, Abraham is most famous as a man of faith. To the people of Israel and the Arabs, he is the person whom they prioritize most as their physical ancestor. However, for the approximately 3 billion people living on Earth today who believe in Jesus, he is the ancestor of faith whom they must emulate. That is why we examine his faith first. Faith is invisible, yet it is a virtue essential for human life. We must trust one another to find peace and pursue happiness. Furthermore, trust in God is just as important as trust among people. This is because only when we know and believe in the Creator can we truly live on this earth according to His creative intent. This is because hell comes to this earth when one lives as one pleases without knowing the One who brought oneself into this world, and happiness comes only when one knows and reveres the Creator and lives according to His will. Since a world of order and justice exists where people trust one another, knowing and trusting the Creator is the most important thing in human life above all else. Abraham, the father of faith and the ancestor of both Jews and Arabs, faithfully believed in God throughout his life; his faith did not fade over time, nor did it waver during times of crisis, but rather grew stronger. Furthermore, he developed a faith that offered everything. Since his faith remained steadfast, grew stronger over time, and matured into a faith that fully trusted in God's will and offered everything, this is an example we must all follow. Jews, Catholics, Protestants, Arabs, and Muslims must all resemble this aspect of him to become His true descendants.
You will understand the above content better if you view it through a picture. God truly caused Abraham to live the most exemplary life for all humanity, so that everyone would desire to emulate him. He lived to become the ancestor of people, including those in Israel in the Middle East, in the flesh, and spiritually—that is, through faith—to become the ancestor of all believers. We simply need to look at Abraham's life and strive to emulate it; I believe that those who live this way will truly become Abraham's descendants and experience the joy of meeting Abraham in Heaven. Indeed, the life of a person from 4,000 years ago is perfectly identical to the present reality of a person who truly builds Heaven by keeping the law under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, after Jesus came to save sinners and gave the Holy Spirit. Furthermore, His life perfectly aligns with the life of the Apostle Paul, who, 2,000 years later, believes in his descendant Jesus, receives the Holy Spirit, and firmly establishes and fulfills the law under the guidance of the Spirit. This is a scene that proves that those who believe in and follow Jesus are truly the most accurate descendants of Abraham.
Moreover, the message regarding Abraham is not limited solely to Israel. This applies to all of his physical descendants: Israel, the Arab empires, and the nations of the Middle East. This is because God prophesied that He would become their God. In other words, He becomes the God of the nations through Abraham. This is true in the flesh. The Arab empires and the Islamic empires also acknowledge this. Furthermore, Abraham becomes the ancestor of all believers through faith and through Jesus. Viewing it this way, we must understand the Bible as the word that encompasses and governs the entire world. All nations and tribes wishing to take Abraham as their ancestor must acknowledge His God. They must also acknowledge our Lord Jesus, who existed before Abraham and created the heavens and the earth, as their Savior and the Son of God. Only by doing so can they qualify as His true descendants.
First, regarding Abraham, Catholicism and Protestantism—which believe in Jesus—have debated for about 500 years over whether faith or works are the answer. The image below serves as a clear and easy illustration to understand this matter.
Both Protestantism and Catholicism are encompassed within the 100 years of faith of a single individual. Protestantism asserts that God came to Abraham during his early faith—specifically between the ages of 75 and 85—and, seeing his faith, declared him righteous; this assertion is remarkably accurate. Similarly, Catholicism emphasizes the need to believe and act, and this is also precisely reflected in the faith demonstrated by Abraham's sacrifice of Isaac between the ages of 118 and 125. Furthermore, there is the second test of faith, the faith of the 99th to 100th years. Therefore, we must now combine both and view them as one Abraham. Since believing is of paramount importance when a new believer first joins, faith must be emphasized. Moreover, the priority in evangelizing non-believers is leading them to believe in Jesus. Jesus Himself taught His disciples and saints for about three years, enabled them to receive the Holy Spirit and power, and then sent them out into the world. However, problems can arise if a human pastor, acting as if they are superior, or if a Catholic nurturing believers, insists on "believing and acting immediately." Additionally, sending a new believer out into the world immediately is a mistake. When a new believer comes to a church or cathedral, they are first educated to practice their faith very well for several years. Then, they are guided to act based on that faith. Observing the faith of Abraham, the father of faith, who offered his children, we must ensure that they absolutely practice sharing everything God has given them for the sake of evangelism. Protestants, too, must take action if they have believed for more than 10 years. They can no longer hesitate while merely saying "faith alone." Since Catholics and Protestants explain Abraham's faith by focusing on aspects they themselves fail to see, claiming that they are the most correct, they must stop this and respect each other's arguments. We must first acknowledge that the words of Romans 1:17 are the record of Abraham's faith spanning 100 years—that is, his entire life. Furthermore, we must admit that we have focused so heavily on the early and late stages of Abraham's faith that we have long lacked a perspective that integrates them. However, Romans 1:17 clearly describes and explains Abraham's life in this way. Everyone views it as Almighty God observing Abraham's lifelong faith and having the Apostle Paul write the Epistle to the Romans through the Holy Spirit. The secret to the unity of Catholicism and Protestantism lies in Romans 1:17, and this is only possible by correctly understanding Abraham's 100 years of faith as described above. All of this content is material I recently compiled after believing in Jesus, receiving the Holy Spirit, and studying the New Testament. If I had not known Jesus, received the Holy Spirit, or read, organized, and shared the Bible, I absolutely could not have organized it in this way. Furthermore, this understanding was achieved little by little over a long period of time; it certainly did not happen all at once. God enabled me, an unworthy person, to understand it in this way. Therefore, understanding this content may take time for everyone. However, I believe that if the Holy Spirit works within you, there will be some who understand it all instantaneously.
This organization was reached approximately 40 years after I met Jesus.
※ A Brief Summary of Abraham’s 100-Year Life
I have roughly calculated the size of Abraham’s sword. A life spans 100 years, which, when multiplied by 365 days, amounts to approximately 36,500 days. Abraham was a man who lived his life well day by day. However, if his sword grew by one cheok (30 cm) per day, it would reach approximately 1,000,000 cm, or about 10 km. Even if it grew by 1 meter per year, that still amounts to 100 meters. I am providing this calculation because my writing might feel quite long. I believe there are few figures in the Bible for whom 15 chapters are recorded. While King David’s life may be described at greater length, 15 out of the 50 chapters of Genesis are dedicated to the story of Abraham alone. I have summarized this for you. You must fully understand this content to comprehend the evangelism of Israel, the unity of Catholicism and Protestantism, and the unity between Islam and the Arab world; therefore, please make sure to take the time to fully grasp this. I urge prosecutors, judges, lawyers, and law professors to redouble their efforts. I will make copies of this text and share them with someone who is considered the best in Korea in the field of law. He is someone everyone knows.
Everyone should be able to review my materials and summarize them as follows.
First, Abraham is a man of faith known to everyone. Moreover, his faith is one that grows stronger day by day. He grows through a faith of believing and departing, believing and acting, and believing and dedicating. He fully believed the words that his descendants would be like the stars in the sky, that many nations would come from his descendants, and that he would become a source of blessing.
Secondly, Abraham is a good man. Being good means being just, practicing love, and walking humbly with the Lord; throughout his life, Abraham walked well with the Lord and lived kindly and peacefully with those around him. To walk with the Lord, one must first believe in Him and obey Him. Everyone who lives according to their own will is not walking with Him; rather, they are living according to their own will, unrelated to God. Even if one believes, such things can happen, so if one believes but does not act or dedicate, that is how it turns out. However, Abraham walked with Him while believing, obeying, and revering Him. That is why he was called a friend of God.
Third, Abraham was a man of lawfulness who faithfully observed God's laws, statutes, and commandments. Although codified laws like the Law of Moses did not exist at that time, he was evaluated by God for keeping them through faith and observing all of God's precepts through love.
Fourth, Abraham was a righteous man. He possessed love to the extent that he pleaded five times with God, who sought the righteous, during the judgment of the unrighteous Sodom and Gomorrah; furthermore, his life was righteous. How could an unrighteous person have the right to plead with a righteous God? Nevertheless, we are all sinners, and as sinners, we always seek God's mercy and grace. In any state, we must believe in and seek the God who loves us. I believe we must seek Him while repenting.
※ Now, with this understanding of Abraham, we will attempt to resolve the issue of "righteousness by faith alone" between Catholicism and Protestantism. We will attempt to resolve the 500-year debate between Catholicism and Protestantism using Abraham's great sword.
Fortunately, there are few people who are unaware of the Reformation of 500 years ago. Martin Luther, a German priest, found it difficult to accept the forgiveness of sins through indulgences. It is said that even when he performed penance—such as kneeling and climbing stairs while shedding blood—to resolve the problem of sin, he could not find peace of mind regarding it. However, upon encountering the message of justification by faith in Romans 1:17 and 3:21-26, I believe he realized that salvation does not lie in spending money to buy indulgences or performing blood-shedding penances, but is resolved by believing in Jesus. Consequently, he began to advocate the doctrine of justification by faith, and those who followed it established Protestantism. Due to religious persecution at the time, they migrated to the New World in search of freedom. As a result, the United States became a Protestant nation as it is today, and through strong missionary work, there is no country in the world without Protestantism. However, regarding the Protestant doctrine that we are justified by faith—that is, by faith alone—the Catholic Church insists that not only faith but also certain works are required. Consequently, salvation by faith and salvation by works have been in a tense standoff for 500 years, with neither side yielding the slightest. Protestants have labeled various Catholic doctrines as unbiblical, targeting them for evangelism and even going so far as to claim that the Antichrist will emerge from the Catholic Church. Furthermore, while the Catholic Church initially did not acknowledge Protestantism, it now understands it as a separated brotherhood. We now intend to resolve this massive, historical, and global issue through Abraham, which is why the phrase "Abraham's great sword" is appropriate. I believe this is not a term I coined, but one that the One who called me placed in my heart several years ago. Moreover, having divorced my Catholic wife and endured about four years of sleepless hell, I am someone who witnessed the suffering Jesus feels when the church is divided. I am sharing with the whole world the amazing grace of God given to me, who possesses such a background.
As it took me about 30 years to understand the Bible, the explanation cannot be kept brief. My experience and understanding of the Bible have evolved little by little over the years, and it is truly not easy for everyone to grasp these contents all at once. This is because both Catholics and Protestants are buried under the thicket of doctrine, unable to see the true truth. First, the point God made me focus on was the question of who a believer is. Since believers are made righteous without discrimination, God revealed to me exactly what the definition of a believer is, and I was astonished by this. I immediately summarized this content and sent it to Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and Oxford Divinity School. I selected four professors and sent it to them. I believed that I would receive a reply right away. I also sent it as a testimony to the Kookmin Ilbo. I will explain it simply using a chart.
Before discussing whether it is faith alone or faith plus works, there was the issue of determining who exactly the believers are who are declared righteous in the Bible, specifically in Romans or the New Testament Pauline epistles. However, based on my experience, I observed that one must become a person who has received the Holy Spirit by going through the process described in Acts 2:37-39.
Furthermore, looking at the Bible, the expression "we," the first fruits of the Spirit, revealed that in the early church, the term "believer" referred to a group of people who believed in Jesus, were baptized in His name, received forgiveness of sins, and were granted the Holy Spirit. This interpretation became somewhat more precise when compared to the meaning that we are made righteous if we believe. Although I had received the Holy Spirit, I did not fully understand its significance until I wrote a thesis at seminary titled "On Church Growth from the Perspective of an Evangelist." During that time, I saw that the events described in Acts 2:37-39 were recorded exactly as they happened to me. Since the group that received the Holy Spirit like me constituted the entirety of that era, I naturally came to emphasize that believers—that is, believers who are made righteous—must be in this manner. I sent this content via letter to the four universities mentioned above and posted it on *Romans for 50 Million* under the title "Seoul Report." Based on my understanding up to this point, I was surprised, excited, joyful, and proud, believing that the debate between Catholicism and Protestantism would be resolved. I felt as though I had accomplished something significant. However, this was merely the beginning. There was a long way to go, and more time was needed. And whenever a new understanding came to me, I would cheer and go wild. I did this all by myself. I think I lived in such excitement for about ten years. Everything was accomplished through the merit of Jesus' precious blood and the grace of the atoning sacrifice on the cross. It is also thanks to the guidance, influence, and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah!!
Although the summary of Genesis chapters 12 through 26 above expresses everything I currently understand, this was not achieved all at once. It is something that has come about recently. The understanding of justification by faith alone is also something I have wrestled with for at least ten years; I have posted this content along with everything else on *Romans for 50 Million* in the order in which I came to understand it, so please refer to it. Then, observing the faith of Abraham and Habakkuk and what the Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 1:17, I came to a new understanding of Abraham and Habakkuk through Genesis and the Book of Habakkuk. I do not belong to Protestantism, which emphasizes faith alone, nor to Catholicism, which emphasizes believing and acting; instead, I have moved forward with the Lord on a journey to understand justification by faith alone. Here is the content. First, let us look at the texts discussed in Romans 1:16-17 and 3:21-22.
Romans 1:16. I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
17. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed, which is by faith from beginning to end, just as it is written: “The righteous shall live by faith.” (Korean Version)
Rom 1:16. I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.
17. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” (Korean Version)
Romans 3:21. But now a righteousness from God has been revealed apart from the law, which is attested to by the law and the prophets.
22. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe, without distinction. (Revised Korean Version)
* It is necessary to upload the Korean Revised Version exactly as it is so that the Korean people may know how to understand the Bible.
Truly, God's grace is beyond words. God allowed me to understand things precisely, one by one, in order. I cannot express in words how great that joy is. It is absolutely not something I did on my own. Then, while studying Romans in English, by God's grace, I came across the phrase "Faith from first to last." I asked a colleague, a department head who is proficient in English, what it meant. I learned that it means "from beginning to end," which is translated in the Korean Revised Version as "from faith to faith." At that time, I explained it as above without fully understanding Abraham's journey of faith in Genesis. I organized my thoughts while studying Habakkuk, James, and Genesis; looking back now, it seems inadequate, but at the time, I was jumping for joy and giving thanks to God for learning these things. However, I later realized that it was a sin to act recklessly, lightly dismissing a pastor who advocated "faith alone" without knowing these facts, and suffering excruciating back pain. The immense pain lasted for over six months. I even wondered why I was enduring such excruciating suffering for so long, when even a woman's pain subsides after giving birth in just a day or two. However, after suffering excruciating pain, my excitement finally subsided. Then, I drew the diagram below. I drew it based on my understanding.
And I also drew the chart above. There are parts that are significantly different from the beginning. This caused quite a stir for me again. I have now encompassed all theological university professors across various institutions. I selected professors from theological universities in the UK, the US, Canada, and Australia, as well as about 10 Korean theological universities, and sent the content above and other materials to approximately 600 to 700 people on multiple occasions. I translated everything into English before sending it. I immediately upload any biblical passages that I newly understand to *Romans for 50 Million*. There is almost nothing I know but do not upload. When God gives me something new, I gladly accept it and upload it without ceasing with a joyful heart. There has never been such a joyful and easy task. Over about eight years, I have uploaded everything in the form of 1,200 long posts.
Everyone will understand if they look at the chart. The word of justification is what God spoke after observing the faith of Abraham and Habakkuk, and Paul quotes this in Romans. Therefore, one understands by looking at Abraham's faith, and then goes to the Book of Habakkuk to understand it further. So, although there are parts that differ slightly from what is known now, at that time, I sent the letters to theological university professors believing that I understood it much more accurately than anyone else. And I also received a reply.
The issue of justification by faith was not a matter of faith alone versus works, but rather a matter of understanding the Bible. As you can see, the word "faith" is clearly present in the Bible from beginning to end, and Abraham's journey of faith is as described above, so this must be referenced. Furthermore, seeing that Habakkuk became righteous through a life of faith and living righteously, I explained it as described above. The interest in the justification by faith that I advocate is directed toward a life lived believing in Jesus. Looking at the first faith and the last faith, I examined Abraham's life in chronological order. It was particularly surprising to see his faith at the age of 100 in Romans 4:17-22. As I gained a new understanding of the passage regarding "faith alone"—that faith becomes firm even with age—I realized that this is a field that neither Catholicism nor Protestantism pays attention to. I felt that there is a lack of understanding and research regarding this area. When seeing such things, one cannot help but be amazed and jump for joy. Is there a greater joy than reading, understanding, and sharing the Bible?
And I closely examined Galatians, a "miniature Romans," and Habakkuk, which consists of three chapters. I believed that since they are shorter than Romans, they would be easier and take less time. In particular, while looking at Galatians, I was surprised to see that although I had understood it as a book about being justified by faith, it contained a great deal of content regarding the Holy Spirit. Truly, those who wish to properly understand Romans and the Bible simply follow the procedures according to Jesus' words. They receive the Holy Spirit. Then, guided by the Holy Spirit, they live virtuously and preach the Gospel. Furthermore, if you understand the Old and New Testaments through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, you will arrive at the most accurate understanding of Romans. This is because we learn by living exactly as Paul lived.
I also received a reply. While wrestling with this for several years, I reached an amazing conclusion: I came to see the text of Romans 1:17. Although I had looked at the Korean Revised Version (KJV) in English as well, this part was not visible before, but it has now begun to appear. Now, we must clearly see how the text has been interpreted. Let us look at the text in English and Korean.
Rom 1:16. I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.
17. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith." (NIV)
Rom 1:17 For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith." (Korean Translation)
Rom 1:17 A righteousness from God is revealed in the gospel. This righteousness is righteousness that comes through faith. However, that faith is a faith that believes well from beginning to end. It is as recorded in the Bible: "The righteous are those who live their lives day by day with faith." (I have translated this accurately back into English.)
In fact, the content that is so clearly present in the text has been presented in such a long, roundabout way. Although the text clearly states that a person who has faith from beginning to end and lives their life believing is righteous, we have debated for 500 years about whether it is "faith alone" or "believing plus works." The understanding of justification by faith is that a person who believes and lives their life based on that faith is righteous, and that faith is a faith that believes well from beginning to end. The Bible is clearly recorded this way. I discussed this in English with Chat GPT for a long time—at least six months—and became convinced that everyone must understand it this way.
Therefore, I conveyed the following. This is the content conveyed in 2026.
Upon seeing this passage, Luther challenged the Catholic Church's sale of indulgences and other incomprehensible realities 500 years ago, paving the way for Protestantism. He explained the doctrine of justification by faith through this verse, gaining such widespread support and acceptance that modern Protestantism was born, and approximately 600 million people worldwide now believe. However, Catholicism and Protestantism hold different views regarding this same passage. Furthermore, since there is precise evidence to support this, no one can refute it. It is found in Romans 4:1-16 and Genesis 15:6. Since it explains the same thing through the faith of Abraham, the content is identical. This is also verified through the biblical text. First, the Protestant argument explains complete biblical logic. It is not incorrect in the slightest. Therefore, there is no compromise whatsoever..
Genesis 15:5 He led him outside and said to him, “Look up at the sky and count the stars, if you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So will your descendants be.”
6 Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord credited it to him as righteousness. (NIV)
Romans 3:28 Therefore we acknowledge that a man is justified not by works of the law but by faith.
Romans 4:1 What then can we say that Abraham, our father, obtained according to the flesh?
2 If Abraham had been justified by works, he would have something to boast about, but not before God.
3 What does Scripture say? Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.
Romans 4:13 The covenant made with Abraham and his descendants that they would be heirs of the world was not through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. (NIV)
Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Let Us Enjoy
Gal. 3:5 "Is it by works of the law, or by hearing and believing, that he who gives you the Spirit and performs miracles among you?"
6 "Just as Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness." (NIV)
This explains the Protestant doctrine of justification by faith with such precision. It is so clear that nothing more is needed. That is why it has endured for 500 years without being shaken in the slightest by the claims of the Catholic Church.
Now, let us examine the claims of the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church absolutely does not agree with the Protestant assertion that faith alone is sufficient, and insists that faith plus works are required. Since the basis for this is so clearly found in the Bible, all Catholics believe this and remain unwavering. Let us take a look.
James 2:20. O foolish man, do you want to know that faith without works is useless?
21. Was not our father Abraham justified by works when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?
22. You see that faith worked together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect.
23. Thus was fulfilled the Scripture that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” And he was called God’s friend.
24. Therefore, a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.
25. Likewise, was not Rahab the prostitute justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way?
26. Just as the body without the soul is dead, so faith without works is dead. (NIV)
This supports the Catholic claim with remarkable accuracy. Therefore, Protestants refute this claim, calling it salvation by works. There is a claim that differs from the Protestant assertion that one is saved and justified solely by faith. Indeed, confusion may arise as to whether one should follow Paul’s Epistle to the Romans or James’s Epistle to James. Because the two scriptures explain justification differently, they have debated for 500 years without yielding or compromising their opinions, sometimes even resorting to severe criticism. What can be done about this? Although we believe in the same Jesus, the same God, and the same Holy Spirit, and read the same New and Old Testaments, we are unable to become one.
Now, here is the claim of the "2026 Ultimate Version of Justification by Faith." It is the claim of a Korean pastor. It is a path of Bible study that is incredibly easy and enjoyable, guided by the Holy Spirit, and it is a command to stop quarreling and become one. First, we must look at the text again. The answer lies within the text.
Romans 1:16. I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."
Romans 1:17 For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from beginning to end, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."
Romans 1:17 A righteousness from God is revealed in the gospel. This righteousness is a righteousness that comes by faith. However, that faith is a faith that believes well from beginning to end. It is just as it is written: "The righteous are those who live their lives day by day with that faith." (I have translated this accurately into English.)
Anyone with even a little English proficiency will acknowledge that I understood the text and translated it with absolute accuracy. I have now observed that there are people in Korea who focus on faith from beginning to end. Whether American or British, anyone who reads the above translation (NIV) understands it as "faith" from start to finish. The part translated as "faith" also carries the same meaning. The phrase "faith alone" could also be understood. However, the explanation regarding faith is clearly defined as "faith" from beginning to end. Now, you just need to look at whose faith is being explained in this way. It explains the faith of the same person in this manner, and then explains it for another person as well. Who are they? They are Habakkuk and Abraham. Paul quoted the content of the Book of Habakkuk verbatim. It is found in Habakkuk 2:4 and is exactly the same as Romans 1:17. It appears as God's answer to Habakkuk's question. It means that the righteous person acknowledged by God lives their daily life righteously, trusting in the works of the just God even in adversity or amidst the ruin of a nation. In a situation where injustice prevails and nations are being destroyed by war, who is the righteous one? Who is the one whom God declares righteous? It is the person who lives righteously every day, just like Habakkuk, believing in the righteous God. This is the precise meaning.
Now, let us look at the example of another person, Abraham. Romans, Genesis, and James recorded the same person and the same faith differently. We have already verified the text through these two arguments. However, there is a part here that has received slightly less attention from the two churches. It is the faith of Abraham that lies between these two arguments. It is also in the Bible, and in Romans.
Romans 4:17. As it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations.” And the God whom he believed is the One who raises the dead and calls into existence things that do not exist.
18. Abraham believed against all hope, so that he might become the father of many nations, according to the word that said, “So shall your descendants be.”
19. When he was a hundred years old and knew that his body was as good as dead and Sarah’s womb was as good as dead, his faith did not weaken.
20. He did not doubt God’s promise out of faith, but was strengthened in faith and gave glory to God.
21. He was convinced that God was able to fulfill what He had promised.
22. Therefore it was credited to him as righteousness. (NIV)
We can all acknowledge and verify that such material exists in the Bible. Now, the explanation of justification by faith, which unites Catholicism and Protestantism, is found in the above passage. We must see that the journey of one person’s faith continues in this way. There is a specific moment—that is, a journey of Abraham’s faith that differs from the moment viewed by Protestants, the moment viewed by Catholics, and the moment viewed by them. This was around the time he was 100 years old. If so, when exactly did the Protestant claim depict Abraham? It was some time before he was about 86 years old, when he first met God, left Ur of the Chaldeans in obedience to His command, and fathered Ishmael. Therefore, he was declared righteous during Abraham’s journey of faith between the ages of 75 and 85, and this is the part of Romans and Genesis that we have verified. This is the content that serves as the basis for Protestantism, which everyone has read. It is found in Romans 4:1-16, Romans 3:28, Romans 5:1, and Genesis 15:6. (Galatians 3:5-6 is also present.)
And now, God’s declaration of righteousness around the age of 100 is recorded in Romans 4:17-22. There is also the content of James Chapter 2, which is the subject of the Catholic argument we have examined. At this time, Abraham is estimated to have been approximately 118 to 125 years old. God declares Abraham righteous because he obeys the command to sacrifice the young Isaac and offers him in action. We will now look at this in connection with the others. In other words, if we view Abraham's faith as recorded in the Bible as a journey of three stages, his first faith occurred around the age of 75 to 85, and his final faith around the age of 118 to 125. Since both Catholicism and Protestantism accurately observe the faith and God's declaration of righteousness during this period and present their respective logics, there is absolutely no error in either of their arguments based on the Bible. However, both churches must now acknowledge the part where he was declared righteous at the age of 100. Why is that? Since it is so clearly in the Bible, who would deny it? Let me show you again. Surprisingly, there are people who do not know this passage exists even after reading the Bible 100 times. Why is that? This is because it is difficult to simply gloss over the fact that one is justified by believing in Protestant doctrine. However, this part implies that Abraham possessed a faith distinct from the one he was declared righteous around the age of 75 to 85, and that his faith remained firm over time. Only faith appears as a faith that remains steadfast over the years. This must be included. Let us also examine the text.
Romans 4:17. As it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations.” And the God whom he believed is the One who raises the dead and calls into existence things that do not exist.
18. Abraham hoped against hope and believed, so that he might become the father of many nations, according to the word that said, “So shall your descendants be.”
(NIV)
Now, if we include this, one man’s faith manifested in three moments, and Catholicism and Protestantism should have discussed justification by synthesizing these three parts and three moments of faith, respectively. They each obsessed over one part of Abraham—that is, one moment of faith—for 500 years, and thus claimed that the other was wrong. Now, if we view this through the lens of Abraham's lifelong faith—that is, examining it from beginning to end through faith—at first, he simply believed God's command. By faith alone, he was declared righteous, exactly as Protestantism claims. Then, time passed. Now, God came again to Abraham, who was nearly a hundred years old, to observe his faith. However, Abraham's faith had become even more steadfast. Seeing this, God declared him righteous. Then, regarding the final act of faith—the command to sacrifice Isaac—Abraham, who was 118 to 125 years old, believed in God without hesitation—that is, he believed in God's power to raise the dead—and obeyed exactly. In other words, he now performed the act of sacrificing his own son, an act that was truly difficult to obey, through faith. This, too, is remarkably accurate, just as Catholicism claims. Now, we must view this as a whole. Why? Because it is the journey of faith of one person. We cannot synthesize this if they were different individuals, but it is because it is the journey of faith of one person whom both Catholicism and Protestantism focus on and both agree is correct. Furthermore, since the words of Romans 1:17 regarding faith from beginning to end are so clearly present, we must view this as a whole. At first, Abraham simply believed. And in the middle, Abraham's faith becomes firm. Finally, Abraham's faith entails the act of offering his son. Now we see the beauty of the faith of Abraham, our truly beautiful father of faith. We must recognize the fact that his faith in God, spanning approximately 100 years, did not weaken with the passage of time but rather grew stronger, ultimately leading to a faith of active obedience that included even the sacrifice of his own son. This is a model of faith that we must emulate. And in this way, God perfectly prepared a human being to be the father of faith, using him as an example so that we, too, may believe in and obey Him even better as time goes by. God's wisdom and faithfulness are boundless, and the faith of our father Abraham is great. It is God's divine plan deserving of widespread praise. Hallelujah!
I bless the two churches, which for 500 years have insisted on their own correctness by looking at only one aspect of one person's faith, in the name of Jesus, that you reflect deeply and become one. Now, let us delve deeper by looking at the text again, Romans 1:17. I mentioned that unlike the Korean Bible, which translates it as "the righteous shall live by faith" or "they shall live by faith," the English version reads as follows. I stated that the righteous are people who live their lives day by day with faith. Since this also differs from Catholicism and Protestantism, the text argues that there must be a life distinct from the Catholic emphasis on works and the Protestant emphasis on "faith alone." This means that we become righteous only when we believe in Jesus and live a life based on that faith. A saint who has life must live and live until the moment that life comes to an end. Without faith, one lives as one pleases and according to one's own will; however, if one has faith, it becomes only natural to use that faith as a means and a tool to live a life worthy of that faith. The point of the text is that a person who lives a life worthy of faith in this way becomes righteous.
Without faith, one lives as one pleases and according to one's own will, but if one has faith, it becomes only natural to use that faith as a means and a tool to live a life worthy of that faith. The text states that a person who lives such a life worthy of faith is made righteous. Considering these comprehensive points, what kind of life of faith does God desire from us? First, just as Abraham was declared righteous by believing in God, we too will undoubtedly be declared righteous by God by believing in Jesus. Furthermore, since we have life until the day we die, we must live today by faith in Jesus. And whether God comes again sometime after Abraham, or if God, who is always with us, is the one who will surely see our faith, He will surely see it. Whether it is five, ten, or fifteen years after our first faith, God sees our faith. He is the Almighty God who can see at any time. However, our faith must become as firm as Abraham's; the message is that we should not rely on material things and trust God less now that we are financially stable, nor should we become discouraged and trust less because suffering is prolonged and the answer to our prayers is delayed. It means that, just as Abraham did, we must believe firmly even when we face difficulties or obstacles to our faith. This is the message that our faith must become this way, and only when it is this way will the act of justification be connected and we be declared righteous again. And God is always with us, desiring that we become faithful believers following the example of Abraham, and He observes how we believe. Now, having believed for 50 years, our material wealth has become immense and our reputation has risen high. Now, God no longer demands that we sacrifice our sons; instead, He commands all of us to share our wealth with poor neighbors and brothers, just as He required of the rich young man. Every Korean believer is receiving this demand from God. Now, what must be done to be declared righteous? Naturally, one must sell all possessions and share them with poor neighbors to be recognized as righteous. Since He commands us to share our possessions with poor neighbors—a command that does not require me to shed blood or die—if I do not obey, the connection of being declared righteous up until now will be severed.
I preached up to this point in January 2026 and proclaimed myself to be the ultimate version of justification by faith. However, it is not the end; while studying Genesis again in English, the entire journey of Abraham's faith became visible as I explained earlier, and through this, I was able to provide a more accurate and sophisticated explanation. We have already seen that diagram.
Humans run wild when they know even a little, claiming that this is all there is. This is the insignificant ability of human beings. Almighty God does not stop, but brings me, who is so agitated, back to my senses. He sometimes uses a stern rod. And He leads me to a more accurate and complete truth. Hallelujah! I praise and give glory to the great God.
First, I resolved the issues regarding Genesis chapters 17 and 18 and Romans 4:17-22 concerning the ages of 99 to 100. I resolved the discrepancy where one Bible passage states that people laughed at the same event, while another says their faith became stronger, as described above. God did it all, and He also gave us the short phrase: "Believe, and it bursts! Act, and it conceives!" Furthermore, by God's grace, I drew a complete chart for easy viewing. This is the merit of the Lord's precious blood and the atoning sacrifice of the cross, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah!!
God sees and knows both Abraham's faith and Habakkuk's faith. And after 2,000 years have passed, when the Apostle Paul explains the process of being justified by faith in Jesus, the Holy Spirit inspired him to write the Book of Romans while observing the examples of both Abraham and Habakkuk. Therefore, Romans 1:17 encompasses Abraham's entire hundred years of faith. It is a content that includes his entire life of faith from beginning to end, and his faithful life grounded in faith day by day. Furthermore, justification is not a one-time event; there is a test that takes place throughout one's life. The One who is absolutely just will not declare righteous a person who has fallen away simply because they believed well at first. You must know this. This was clearly revealed in Ezekiel 18. There must be no error. You must believe well.
Ezekiel 18:24. If a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and sins, and does all the abominable things that the wicked do, will he live? None of his righteous deeds will be remembered; he will die for the transgression he committed and the sin he has done. (NIV)
The understanding of justification by faith alone will not be forced through a partial interpretation of the Bible, but will be resolved through a holistic understanding of the Bible that everyone agrees is correct. I believe that there must be no logical flaws for both believers and non-believers. I believe that the understanding of Abraham’s lifelong faith is resolved when both Catholicism and Protestantism acknowledge and combine the correct aspects of both, even though both are right. For Catholics and Protestants, it may be unreasonable to immediately tell a believer who first comes to a church or cathedral to "believe and act." Jesus instructed that they receive the Holy Spirit from apostles or saints who have been well-trained by Him for at least three years before going out into the world. Therefore, it is absolutely necessary to properly educate new believers for at least 3 to 5 years. Thus, "faith alone" is the correct approach. Furthermore, if someone who has practiced their faith for 20 to 60 years still adheres to the Protestant doctrine of "faith alone," they fall far short of Abraham’s faith, which involves believing, acting, and dedicating. For such a person, it is not "faith alone," but rather "believe and act," and "believe and dedicate everything." All long-standing Protestants must accept the Catholic biblical truth that one must believe and act. In this way, Catholicism and Protestantism can become one without the slightest need for conflict; this is made possible by Abraham's great sword. I believe that my preaching is due to the merit of the precious blood of our Lord Jesus and the grace of the atoning sacrifice on the cross. Hallelujah! I believe it is the steadfast indwelling and ceaseless inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
After failing the second round of the Civil Service Examination by just one point, God called me to become a pastor. I married a Catholic wife in my first marriage and went to Jangsin University to prepare for seminary. It was while there that I came across the *Panorama Bible* by Terry Hall. Seeing how he read and organized the Bible in that book, I forgot about my seminary preparations and began reading and organizing the Bible using this method; it has been nearly 30 years since then. The foundation of my writing lies in this Bible organization and evangelism, as well as studying social sciences for about 13 hours a day for approximately eight years during my undergraduate and graduate studies. Furthermore, my limited English comes from my 10 years of experience in the KATUSA and U.S. military units. Having been ordained as a pastor in an independent denomination rather than attending the seminary at Jangsin University, and having built a family and worked a job just like everyone else in the world, I continue to post these writings without rest by God's grace. I feel a profound lack of study and a need for intensive learning, but the biggest problem is that I must earn money every day. Trusting in God's help, I write this while fighting and learning. Prayer is absolutely necessary.
The 500-year conflict between Catholicism and Protestantism is being resolved by God's grace, the earnest desire of our Lord, and the help of the Holy Spirit. I believe that the pain our Lord Jesus experienced during the church division, which I witnessed, will now be healed through the mutual understanding and love between Catholic and Protestant believers. There is no longer any reason to quarrel with one another. To quarrel again now would be stubbornness and ignorance. It would be exposing one's own ignorance of the Bible to the world. Furthermore, a divided church can absolutely not overcome the massive challenge to Christianity by the Chinese Communist Party and the unrestrained attacks of Islam. These are the true spiritual challenges and adversaries of this era. We must discern correctly and confront them immediately.
