Bible Reading - Proverbs 6:16~24

Chapter 6

6:16 There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable(혐오스러운) to him:

주님께서 미워하시는 것 여섯가지와 그에게 혐오스러운 것 일곱이 있다.

6:17 haughty(거만한) eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,

거만한 눈, 거짓을 말하는 혀, 무죄한 자의 피를 흘리는 손

6:18 a heart that devises(고안하다. 꾸미다) wicked schemes, 악한 계략을 꾸미는 마음

feet that are quick to rush into evil, 악으로 달려가기에 빠른 발

6:19 a false witness who pours out lies 거짓을 쏟아내는 거짓된 증인

and a man who stirs up(일으키다) dissension(불화) among brothers.

형제들 중에서 불화를 일으키는 사람

6:20 My son, keep your father's commands 내 아들아 너의 아버지의 명령을 지켜라.

and do not forsake your mother's teaching. 그리고 네 어머니의 가르침을 저버리지 말라.

6:21 Bind them upon your heart forever; 그것들을 너의 마음에 영원히 묶어라.

fasten them around your neck. 너의 목 둘레에 그것들을 걸어라. 

6:22 When you walk, they will guide you; 네가 걷고 있을 때 그것들이 너를 인도할 것이며

when you sleep, they will watch over you; 네가 잠자고 있을 때 그것들이 너를 지킬 것이며

when you awake, they will speak to you. 네가 깨어있을 때 그것들이 너에게 말할 것이다. 

6:23 For these commands are a lamp, 이 명령들은 등불이기에

this teaching is a light, 이 교훈은 빛이기에 

and the corrections of discipline are the way to life,

훈육하므로 교정하는 것은 생명으로 가는 길이다.

6:24 keeping you from the immoral woman, 부도덕한 여자로부터 너를 지킴으로

from the smooth tongue of the wayward(방탕한) wife. 방탕한 아내의 미끄러운 혀로부터
