“ Let's Throw Away ! ”

Friends, my kids & I love to listen stories. Do you like to listen story? Today, I want to tell you a real story. About 2000 years ago in the city of Jericho. There was beggar named Bartimaeus. He was blind and unable to do anything. One day he heard that Jesus the Son of God. The Saviour is in his city and luckily He's passing by him. That blind beggar did different actions. Which caused his healing and salvation. His actions changed him totally. Today, let's examine his life & change our lives too.

1. He shouted all the more.

When blind beggar heard that Jesus the Saviour is passing by him. He shouted with his all strength. But the people who were near him. Yelled at him and asked him to shut his mouth. But as the people asked him to stop. He shouted all the more as much as he could. He didn't feel shy or felt fear of the people who were around him.

Mark 10 : 47 ~ 48

When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” - Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

It happen many times in our lives too. When we invited by someone for the church or for the Bible study. Devil tried to stop us by different ways. Sometimes company bosses commanded to work. Sometimes visitors come in our houses. Sometimes we feel tired & sometimes other troubles arise. Different times, different troubles. But we've to overcome those troubles by faith. See the life of Job. His wife drive him to disobey God.

Job 2 : 9 ~ 10 (First Portion)

His wife said to him, “Are you still holding on to your integrity? Curse God and die!” - He replied, “You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?”

In trouble call God as much as you can. Surely God will listen and answer our prayers.

2. Jesus listened and call.

Blind beggar called again & again in a loud voice even though he rebuked by the people but he did not give up. He did not stop calling Jesus in his trouble. Finally, Jesus stoped and listened beggar's voice and called him close to Him.

Mark 10 : 49 ~ 50

Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.” - Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.

When Jesus called blind beggar. The people who first rebuked him & stoped him not to make noise. They said cheer up. Be happy Messiah, the Saviour is calling you. Here we can notice a wonderful action of a beggar. All the possession what a blind beggar has, was a his cloak. In the blazing sun. He made shed to cover himself with that cloak. At night, when cold breeze blow. Cloak made him warm.

Beggar covered himself with that cloak and made himself warm. That cloak was a sign to beg. Without that cloak he was unable to beg. When Jesus called beggar. Beggar never fold that cloak to use that again but he threw it away. Because beggar knew that Jesus called him. He's going to be healed. He knew, that he will never need it again. So he threw the cloak as far as he can.

Mark 10 : 50 Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.

3. Jesus asked “what do you want?”

Jesus called blind beggar and asked very simple question. You called me. What's matter? What I can do for you? Blind beggar never asked. Jesus give me lots of money, food, house, a beautiful wife, a conveyance and a good job but he asked what really he needed. So friends, when we pray we have to pray to the point not vague prayers.

Mark 10 : 51

“What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him.

The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.” Friends, Apostle Paul wrote in his letter "Jesus is same yesterday today & forever"

Today, Jesus is standing among us & asking us. “What do you want me to do for you?”

What will be our answer. Are we asking vague things or our prayers are to the point?

Finally Jesus healed him because of his faith & praying to the point what he prayed.

Mark 10 : 52 (First Portion)

“ Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight

Conclusion :-

Dear brothers & sisters today I want to teach a very special lesson through this story. Today is very first Sunday of the year 2011. Blind beggar threw away all what he had. He never fold his cloak to use again. But he threw away the begging cloak away far he can. Because he knew that he don't need cloak anymore.

Mark 10 : 50

Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.

Today, Jesus is standing among us and calling us name by name. Jesus want to answer our prayers. Let's throw away all the bad habits of year 2010 and start new year 2011 with Jesus by fulfilling His will in this year 2011 not our's.

Matthew 18 : 20

“ For where two or three come together in My name, there am I with them.”

Jesus is here and calling us to answer our prayers. He want to listen our prayers to the point not vague prayers. Let's pray with motto, with specific goals and start new year 2011 with new slogan, new lives, new goals. Because Jesus said.

Mark 2 : 21 ~ 22

“No one sews a patch of un-shrunk cloth on an old garment. If he does, the new piece will pull away from the old, making the tear worse. - And no one pours new wine into old wine skins. If he does, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wine skins will be ruined. No, he pours new wine into new wine skins.”

" 던 져 버 립 시 다 ! "

제 아이들과 저는 이야기 듣는 것을 좋아합니다. 여러분도 이야기 듣는 거 좋아하십니까? 오늘 제가 실제 있었던 이야기를 해 드리고자 합니다. 약 2000년 전에 여리고성에 바디메오라는 거지가 있었습니다. 그는 맹인이어서 아무 것도 볼 수 없었습니다. 어느 날 하나님의 아들이며 구세주이신 예수가 그 마을에 계신다는 소식을 들었습니다. 다행스럽게도 예수님께서 그의 옆을 지나가고 있었습니다. 그 맹인 거지는 치유와 구원의 근거가 되는 여러 가지 행동을 했습니다. 그의 행동은 그를 전적으로 변화시켰습니다. 그의 삶을 살펴보고 우리의 삶도 변화됩시다.

1. 그는 더 크게 소리질렀습니다.

맹인 거지는 구세주이신 예수가 그의 옆을 지나가고 있음을 들었을 때 온 힘을 다해 외쳤습니다. 주변의 사람들이 입을 다물라고 그에게 소리쳤지만 그는 가능한 더 크게 소리질렀습니다. 그는 부끄러운 줄도 몰랐고 주변 사람들이 두렵지도 않았습니다.

마가복음 10 : 47 ~ 48

나사렛 예수시란 말을 듣고 소리 질러 이르되 다윗의 자손 예수여 나를 불쌍히 여기소서 하거늘 많은 사람이 꾸짖어 잠잠하라 하되 그가 더욱 크게 소리 질러 이르되 다윗의 자손이여 나를 불쌍히 여기소서 하는지라

우리 삶에서도 이런 일이 여러 번 일어납니다. 어떤 사람이 우리를 교회나 성경 공부에 초청했을 때 사탄은 여러 가지 방법으로 우리를 방해하려고 합니다. 때로는 회사 상사가 일을 명령하기도 하고 때로는 집에 손님이 오기도 합니다. 때로는 피곤해지기도 하고 매번 다른 문제들이 일어나기도 합니다. 하지만 우리는 이러한 문제들을 믿음으로 극복해야 합니다. 욥의 삶을 보십시오. 그의 아내는 그를 하나님께 불순종하도록 했습니다.

욥기 2 : 9 ~ 10 (전반)

그의 아내가 그에게 이르되 당신이 그래도 자기의 온전함을 굳게 지키느냐 하나님을 욕하고 죽으라 그가 이르되 그대의 말이 한 어리석은 여자의 말 같도다 우리가 하나님께 복을 받았은즉 화도 받지 아니하겠느냐

문제 속에서 할 수 있는 한 하나님을 부르십시오. 틀림없이 하나님은 우리의 기도를 듣고 응답하실 것입니다.

2. 예수님은 들으시고 부르셨습니다.

맹인 거지는 사람들이 꾸짖어도 포기하지 않고 반복해서 큰 소리로 불렀습니다. 그는 어려움 중에도 예수님을 부르는 것을 멈추지 않았습니다. 결국 예수님은 멈춰 서서 거지의 소리를 들으시고 그를 가까이로 부르셨습니다.

마가복음 10 : 49 ~ 50

예수께서 머물러 서서 그를 부르라 하시니 그들이 그 맹인을 부르며 이르되 안심하고 일어나라 그가 너를 부르신다 하매 맹인이 겉옷을 내버리고 뛰어 일어나 예수께 나아오거늘

예수께서 맹인 거지를 부르셨을 때 처음에 그를 꾸짖고 큰 소리를 내지 못하도록 했던 사람들이 메시야, 구세주가 너를 부르시니 안심하라고 격려했습니다. 여기에서 거지의 멋진 행동을 알 수 있습니다. 맹인 거지가 가지고 있던 전 재산은 그의 겉옷이었습니다.

불타는 태양아래서는 겉옷으로 덮어 피할 곳을 만들고 밤에 찬바람이 불면 겉옷으로 따뜻하게 했습니다. 겉옷은 구걸하는 상징이어서 겉옷이 없이는 구걸도 할 수 없었습니다. 예수께서 거지를 부르셨을 때 거지는 겉옷을 다시 쓰려고 접어둔 것이 아니라 던져버렸습니다. 예수께서 그를 부르시면 치유 받을 것이고 다시는 겉옷이 필요하지 않음을 알았기에 겉옷을 가능한 한 멀리 던져버렸습니다.

마가복음 10 : 50 ---- 맹인이 겉옷을 내버리고 뛰어 일어나 예수께 나아오거늘

3. “무엇을 원하느냐?”고 예수께서 물으셨습니다.

예수께서 맹인 거지를 부르시고 매우 단순하게 물으셨습니다. “무슨 일로 나를 불렀느냐? 무엇을 해 주기 원하느냐?” 맹인 거지는 많은 돈, 음식, 집, 예쁜 아내, 탈 것, 훌륭한 직업을 달라고 요청한 것이 아니라 정말로 필요한 것을 구했습니다. 우리가 기도할 때도 애매한 기도가 아니라 집중해서 기도해야 합니다.

마가복음 10 : 51

예수께서 말씀하여 이르시되 네게 무엇을 하여 주기를 원하느냐 맹인이 이르되 선생님이여 보기를 원하나이다

사도 바울은 그의 편지에 “예수님은 어제나 오늘이나 영원토록 동일하시다”고 썼습니다. 오늘 예수님은 우리들 가운데 서서 물으십니다. “네게 무엇을 하여 주기를 원하느냐?” 우리의 대답은 무엇일까요? 애매한 것을 구합니까? 적절한 기도를 합니까?

마침내 예수님은 그의 믿음과 적절한 기도 때문에 그를 치유하셨습니다.

마가복음 10 : 52 (전반)

예수께서 이르시되 가라 네 믿음이 너를 구원하였느니라 하시니 그가 곧 보게 되어

결론 :-

이 이야기를 통해 매우 특별한 교훈을 가르쳐드리고자 합니다. 오늘은 2011년의 첫 번째 주일입니다. 맹인 거지는 그가 가진 모든 것을 던져 버렸습니다. 다시 쓰려고 겉옷을 접어두지 않았습니다. 겉옷이 더 이상 필요하지 않다는 것을 알았기에 구걸하던 겉옷을 가능한 멀리 던져버렸습니다.

마가복음 10 : 50 ---- 맹인이 겉옷을 내버리고 뛰어 일어나 예수께 나아오거늘

오늘 예수님은 우리들 가운데 서서 우리의 이름을 한 사람씩 부르십니다. 예수님은 우리의 기도에 응답하기 원하십니다. 2010년의 나쁜 습관을 모두 던져버리고 우리의 뜻이 아닌 예수님의 뜻을 행함으로써 그와 함께 새로운 2011년을 시작합시다.

마태복음 18 : 20 ----- 두세 사람이 내 이름으로 모인 곳에는 나도 그들 중에 있느니라

예수님은 여기에 계셔서 우리의 기도에 응답하기 위해 우리를 부르십니다. 그는 애매한 기도가 아닌 집중하는 기도를 듣기 원하십니다. 특별한 좌우명과 목표를 가지고 기도하고 새로운 표어, 새로운 삶, 새로운 목표를 가지고 새로운 2011년을 시작합시다. 예수께서 말씀하셨기 때문입니다.

마가복음 2 : 21 ~ 22

생베 조각을 낡은 옷에 붙이는 자가 없나니 만일 그렇게 하면 기운 새 것이 낡은 그것을 당기어 헤어짐이 더하게 되느니라 새 포도주를 낡은 가죽 부대에 넣는 자가 없나니 만일 그렇게 하면 새 포도주가 부대를 터뜨려 포도주와 부대를 버리게 되리라 오직 새 포도주는 새 부대에 넣느니라 하시니라
