이스라엘 민족은 발버둥치고 있었습니다.

The people of Israel were struggling.

그들은 바벨론 사람들에게 포로로 잡혀서

강제로 고향에서 멀리 떨어진 나라에 가서 살게 되었습니다.

They had been taken captive by the Babylonians

and forced to live in a country far from home.

이사야 선지자가 그 지친 사람들에게 무엇으로 도움을 줄 수 있었겠습니까?

What could the prophet Isaiah give these weary people

to help them?

그는 그들에게 소망의 예언을 전하였습니다.

He gave them a prophecy of hope.

그것은 약속하셨던 메시야에 관해 하나님으로부터 받은 메시지였습니다.

It was a message from God relating to the promised Messiah.

이사야 50장 4절을 통해,

주님은 구세주이신 자신이 언젠가 가져올 평안과 위로에 대해 다음과 같이 묘사하고 있습니다.

In Isaiah 50:4,

the Savior Himself described the comfort and consolation

He would one day bring:

“주 여호와께서 학자들의 혀를 내게 주사

나로 곤고한 자를 말로 어떻게 도와줄 줄을 알게 하시고.”

"The Lord God has given Me the tongue of the learned,

that I should know how to speak a word in season to him

who is weary."

이 말씀은 당시 유배지의 사람들뿐만 아니라

예수님의 긍휼하심을 입게 될 후세대 모두에게 주는

이중적 의미의 평안을 의미합니다.

These were words of dual comfort

-both to the people in exile and to future generations

whose lives would be touched by Jesus' compassion.

복음서에서 우리는 그리스도가 어떻게 “지친 사람을 말로 격려함으로써”

예언을 이루었는지 볼 수 있습니다.

In the Gospels we see how Christ fulfilled the prophecy

with "a word in season to him who is weary."

자신을 따르는 무리들에게 그리스도는

“수고하고 무거운 짐 진 자들아 다 내게로 오라 내가 너희를 쉬게 하리라”(마 11:28)

고 선포하셨습니다.

To the crowds who followed Him, Christ proclaimed:

"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden,

and I will give you rest".

진정 얼마나 깊은 동정심에서 우러나오는 말씀입니까!

Words of compassion indeed!

예수님은 지쳐있는 사람들에게 어떻게 해야 하는지를 우리에게 보여주셨습니다.

Jesus left us an example of how to minister

to people who have grown weary.

당신 주위에 때에 알맞은 격려의 말이나

사려 깊게 들어주는 친구를 필요로 하는 사람들이 있습니까?

Do you know someone

who needs a timely word of encouragement

or the listening ear of a concerned friend?

지친 사람들에게 주는 위로하는 말 한 마디는 큰 도움이 될 것입니다.

A word of comfort to the weary can go a long way.

Isaiah 이사야 50:4-10

[사] 50:4	주 여호와께서 학자들의 혀를 내게 주사 나로 곤고한 자를 말로 어떻게 도와 줄 줄을 알게 하시고 아침마다 깨우치시되 나의 귀를 깨우치사 학자들 같이 알아듣게 하시도다 The Sovereign LORD has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught.
[사] 50:5	주 여호와께서 나의 귀를 여셨으므로 내가 거역하지도 아니하며 뒤로 물러가지도 아니하며 The Sovereign LORD has opened my ears, and I have not been rebellious; I have not drawn back.
[사] 50:6	나를 때리는 자들에게 내 등을 맡기며 나의 수염을 뽑는 자들에게 나의 뺨을 맡기며 모욕과 침 뱉음을 당하여도 내 얼굴을 가리지 아니하였느니라 I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard; I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting.
[사] 50:7	주 여호와께서 나를 도우시므로 내가 부끄러워하지 아니하고 내 얼굴을 부싯돌 같이 굳게 하였으므로 내가 수치를 당하지 아니할 줄 아노라 Because the Sovereign LORD helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore have I set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame.
[사] 50:8	나를 의롭다 하시는 이가 가까이 계시니 나와 다툴 자가 누구냐 나와 함께 설지어다 나의 대적이 누구냐 내게 가까이 나아올지어다 He who vindicates me is near. Who then will bring charges against me? Let us face each other! Who is my accuser? Let him confront me!
[사] 50:9	보라 주 여호와께서 나를 도우시리니 나를 정죄할 자 누구냐 보라 그들은 다 옷과 같이 해어지며 좀이 그들을 먹으리라 It is the Sovereign LORD who helps me. Who is he that will condemn me? They will all wear out like a garment; the moths will eat them up.
[사] 50:10	너희 중에 여호와를 경외하며 그의 종의 목소리를 청종하는 자가 누구냐 흑암 중에 행하여 빛이 없는 자라도 여호와의 이름을 의뢰하며 자기 하나님께 의지할지어다 Who among you fears the LORD and obeys the word of his servant? Let him who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the LORD and rely on his God.

Neither life nor death can ever From the Lord His children sever, For His love and deep compassion Comforts them in tribulation. Compassion is needed to heal the hurts of others.

생명이나 죽음도 결코 주님의 자녀들을 주님으로부터 떼어낼 수 없네 주님의 사랑과 깊은 동정심이 고난 속의 그들을 위로하기 때문이라네 다른 사람들의 상처를 치유하기 위해서는 깊은 동정심이 필요하다.
