이 문제의 b번 근거를 

<Sentence (b) is ungrammatical because the floated emphatic reflexive 'himself' cannot find an potential antecedent 'the president' in grammatical function subject position> 이라 적었는데

"potential antecedent"라고 적은 이유가 주절의 I를 제외하여 인칭이 맞는 the president 로 한정짓고 싶어서 이렇게 적었습니다. 

potential antecedent 가 coindex 되는 antecedent 를 한정지어서 말하는 개념이 맞는지 궁금합니다.

제가 이해한 바로는,
지문에서 제시한 floated emphatic reflexive condition에 근거하여 설명해야 하므로, the president를 potential antecedent라고 하기보다는, himself의 antecedent는 grammatical function subject position에 있어야 하는데 the president는 해당 위치에 있지 않다는 점을 중심으로 서술하는 것이 가장 적절할 것 같습니다.
