A trail of light,
mistaken for shadow.
If we keep searching only for shade,
we may never understand what the light is trying to say.
Among the shapes that appear and disappear through Fern Bower,
I find myself making little sanctuaries—
quiet places shaped by light, leaf and stone.
The bare trees, stripped of everything but their skin,
are as smooth as any living flesh.
The touch.
The temperature.
It seems to shout one simple word:
Healthy.
And all I can say is—
bloody amazing.
It takes breath away!
