He Doesn’t Stand A Chance  마귀에게는 승산이 없다

Ephesians 6:10-18  

¹⁰   Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

¹¹   Put on the full armor of God

     so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.

¹²   For our struggle is not against flesh and blood,

     but against the rulers, against the authorities,

     against the powers of this dark world and

     against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

¹³   Therefore put on the full armor of God,

     so that when the day of evil comes,

     you may be able to stand your ground,

     and after you have done everything, to stand.

¹⁴   Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist,

     with the breastplate of righteousness in place,

¹⁵   and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

¹⁶   In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith,

     with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

¹⁷   Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit,

     which is the word of God.

¹⁸   And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.

     With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

10	끝으로 너희가 주 안에서와 그 힘의 능력으로 강건하여지고
11	마귀의 간계를 능히 대적하기 위하여 하나님의 전신 갑주를 입으라
12	우리의 씨름은 혈과 육을 상대하는 것이 아니요 통치자들과 권세들과 이 어둠의 세상 주관자들과 하늘에 있는 악의 영들을 상대함이라
13	그러므로 하나님의 전신 갑주를 취하라 이는 악한 날에 너희가 능히 대적하고 모든 일을 행한 후에 서기 위함이라
14	그런즉 서서 진리로 너희 허리 띠를 띠고 의의 호심경을 붙이고
15	평안의 복음이 준비한 것으로 신을 신고
16	모든 것 위에 믿음의 방패를 가지고 이로써 능히 악한 자의 모든 불화살을 소멸하고
17	구원의 투구와 성령의 검 곧 하나님의 말씀을 가지라
18	모든 기도와 간구를 하되 항상 성령 안에서 기도하고 이를 위하여 깨어 구하기를 항상 힘쓰며 여러 성도를 위하여 구하라

2004년 당시 프로야구의 전도유망한 기대주였던 조쉬 해밀튼은 약물 남용으로 출전정지를 당했습니다.

그러던 어느 날 밤 그는 그의 인생을 바꾸게 될 꿈을 꾸게 되었습니다.

꿈속에서 그는 마귀와 싸우고 있었습니다.

그는 이렇게 말했습니다. “나는 막대기를 가지고 있었습니다.

내가 그를 칠 때마다 그는 쓰러졌지만 다시 일어났습니다.

내가 완전히 지쳐버릴 때까지 그를 쳤지만, 그는 여전히 서있었습니다.”

In 2004, Josh Hamilton was an outstanding pro baseball prospect,

but he was suspended because of drug abuse.

Then one night Josh had a life-changing dream.

He was fighting the devil. “I had a stick,” he said,

“and every time I hit him, he’d fall and get back up.

I hit him until I was exhausted, and he was still standing.”

그 악몽 이후, 해밀튼은 마약을 끊기로 맹세하였습니다.

그러고 나서 해밀턴은 그 꿈을 다시 꾸게 되었는데, 이번엔 중요한 차이가 있었습니다.

조쉬는 “내가 [마귀를] 쳤더라면 마귀는 다시 벌떡 일어났을 것입니다.”라고 말했습니다.

그러나 이번에는 그는 혼자가 아니었습니다.

그는 “내가 고개를 돌려 보니 예수님께서 내 옆에서 같이 싸우고 계셨습니다.

우리는 계속 싸웠고, 나는 힘이 펄펄 났습니다. 마귀에게는 전혀 승산이 없었습니다.”라고 말했습니다.

After that nightmare, Hamilton vowed to stay clean.

The dream returned, but with an important difference.

“I would hit [the devil] and he would bounce back,” said Josh.

But this time Josh was not alone.

He said, “I turned my head and Jesus was battling alongside me.

We kept fighting, and I was filled with strength.

The devil didn’t stand a chance.”

성경은 우리 안에 거하는 성령님이 마귀보다 더욱 강력하기 때문에,

마귀는 승산이 전혀 없다고 말합니다(요일 4:4).

예수님은 주님의 삶과 사역, 그리고 대속을 통해 마귀의 일을 멸하러 오셨습니다(3:8).

십자가에서 주님은 마귀를 무장해제 시키셨고 마귀에게 승리하셨습니다(골 1:13-14; 2:15).

The Bible says that the devil doesn’t stand a chance

because the Spirit, who is in us, is greater than he is (1 John 4:4).

Christ came to destroy the works of the devil through His life, ministry, and sacrifice (3:8).

At the cross, He disarmed and triumphed over the devil (Col. 1:13-14; 2:15).

십자가로 인하여 패배했음에도 불구하고, 마귀는 이 세상에서 여전히 활동 중입니다.

그러나 마귀의 궁극적인 패배는 확실합니다 (계 20:7-10).

그때까지 우리는 하나님의 전신갑주를 입고 (엡 6:10-18),

예수님의 보혈과 말씀으로 마귀에 대항하여 굳게 서야 합니다. 마귀에게는 승산이 없습니다.

Though defeated by the cross, the devil remains active in this world.

But his final defeat is certain (Rev. 20:7-10).

Until then, we take up the whole armor of God (Eph. 6:10-18),

standing firm against him by Jesus’ blood and His Word.

He doesn’t stand a chance. 

And though this world, with devils filled, Should threaten to undo us, We will not fear, for God hath willed His truth to triumph through us.  The devil is a defeated foe.

마귀로 가득 찬 이 세상이 우리를 파멸시키려 위협할 지라도 우리를 통해 그분의 진리가 승리하기를 하나님께서 원하시기에 우리는 두렵지 않네 마귀는 이미 패배한 적이다.
