Proverbs 6

6:25 Do not lust in your heart after her beauty 그녀의 아름다움을 마음에 탐내지 마라.

or let her captivate you with her eyes, 그렇게 하지 않으면 그녀의 눈이 당신을 사로잡게 되리라.

6:26 for the prostitute reduces you to a loaf of bread, and the adulteress preys upon your very life.

창녀는 당신을 빵 한 덩어리로 전락시키고, 간통녀는 당신의 생명까지 노린다.

6:27 Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes being burned?

사람이 옷이 타지 않고 불을 무릎 위에 올려놓을 수 있을까?

6:28 Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched?

사람이 뜨거운 숯불 위를 걸으면 발이 타지 않을까?

6:29 So is he who sleeps with another man's wife; 남의 아내와 동침하는 자도 그러하니라

no one who touches her will go unpunished. 그녀를 건드리는 사람은 처벌을 받을 것이다. 

6:30 Men do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy his hunger when he is starving.

배가 고플 때 배고픔을 달래기 위해 훔치는 도둑은 사람들이 멸시하지 않는다.

6:31 Yet if he is caught, he must pay sevenfold, 그러나 그가 잡히면 그는 일곱 배로 갚아야 한다.

though it costs him all the wealth of his house. 그는 자신의 집의 모든 재산을 잃을지라도 말이다.

6:32 But a man who commits adultery lacks judgment; whoever does so destroys himself.

그러나 간음하는 자는 분별력이 없는 자요, 간음하는 자는 자기를 멸망시키는 자니라.

6:33 Blows(폭행) and disgrace(굴욕) are his lot, and his shame(수치) will never be wiped away;

그는 폭행과 굴욕을 당할 것이요, 그의 수치는 결코 씻겨지지 않을 것이다.

6:34 for jealousy arouses a husband's fury(분노), 질투는 남편의 분노를 불러일으키기 때문에

and he will show no mercy when he takes revenge. 그는 복수할 때 자비를 베풀지 않을 것이다.

6:35 He will not accept any compensation(보상); 그는 어떠한 보상도 받지 않을 것이다.

he will refuse the bribe, however great it is. 그는 아무리 큰 뇌물이라도 거절할 것이다.
