Namyeon the Deaconess Who Drowned and Risen: A Testament to Heaven and Hell <Summary> <Hebrews 9:27> 2026.9.27. <Sunday> Pastor Kim Ho-il, Osaka Sarang Community Church. As the youngest daughter in a Buddhist family, I met a female missionary by chance at the age of 13 and accepted Jesus. Even in my young heart, Jesus’ love grew warmer each day. When their parents found out, they scolded and persecuted them so they would not believe in Jesus, but their faith only grew stronger. So I ran away from home, and moved by the thought that I had to go to Daegu, I arrived there and went to the missionary's house, where I told them I wanted to study so I could believe in Jesus, and they welcomed me warmly. But for six months, I was only made to do cleaning, laundry, cooking, and preparing meals, and since I didn't know how to do any of it, I cried a lot because it was so hard. However, because I loved Jesus and wanted to study the Bible, I persevered, kept smiling, sang hymns, and served with joy. After confirming that the missionaries, who served with gratitude and without complaint six months later, could become true daughters of God and valuable workers, I told them to focus on their studies, and they entered the first year of middle school and graduated as exemplary students. When the opportunity to study abroad opened up, he was thwarted by his family's opposition, so he fled to Shanghai, China, where he joined the YMCA. There, he lived in faith with Christian youth engaged in the independence movement, and through the goodwill of the youth president, he opened his heart to them; the two fell in love and got married. My in-laws were from Daegu, a well-known Christian family, and wealthy. However, the eldest son brought his fiancée; at the time, people married at 13, so since he brought a 27-year-old bride, he was treated like a grandmother who could not even bear children. However, he had eight children, and they were all daughters. You are disappointed after the birth of your eighth daughter; why do you not earnestly ask God for the desires of your heart, which the Holy Spirit has inspired. Moved by the fact that he had said he would raise any daughter he had with care, we had no choice but to give her to him as he wished, and from that moment on, we united in prayer. I was 47 years old and unable to conceive, but believing in the miracle that Sarah, Abraham’s wife, gave birth to Isaac at the age of 90, I prayed, and then gave birth to my ninth and tenth sons. I was so grateful that for the tenth time, I dedicated a day to God and prayed to be appointed as a pastor. However, even though the children attended church diligently, it was not genuine faith. When the youngest reached the third year of middle school, he rebelled and refused to become a servant of the master. But I did not lose hope and prayed. I also interceded for others with love and served my neighbors diligently. Every day, I go to the market late at night and buy all the leftover vegetables for her; I am a grandmother who believes in Jesus. I evangelized many people, sharing the gospel, saying, “Believe in Jesus and receive blessings.” Also, a grandmother who believed in Jesus came, going to the slum to give away what she had bought at the market. They said they shared the gospel by saying, “Please accept the item.” My children severely persecuted me, hurting me by saying I was being too gentlemanly and did not believe in Jesus, just like my father. But he said, "God knows, and I have never once been angry," while always smiling. And yet, I cried a lot by myself. Suddenly, I became ill, was diagnosed with stage 3 stomach cancer, and lived with only 20 days to go, but just before death, my last words were: 1> Become children filled with love and who practice love. 2> Having become a faithful believer, he obeyed the Lord’s servant in the church, gave a final word of service with an Amen, and ascended to heaven, only to be raised again after five hours. When I left this world, the gates of heaven opened, and a beautiful floral palanquin descended to stay before my house; the archangel and six angels guided my soul into the palanquin and carried me up to heaven. I wept, moved by God’s grace in taking my imperfect self away in a bridal palanquin. But all the angels were young and beautiful, and even I, at 70, had transformed into a young and beautiful figure. Filled with joy, I ascended to heaven and was shown to myself hell. Suddenly, I heard the voice of someone I had been close to, calling out, “Deacon Nam from hell,” and when I turned around, I saw people I knew calling my name from a dark pool where sulfur flames were boiling, crying out to me that they could not endure even a second here and begging for my life. Also, a deaconess who had been close to me and shared our faith for decades died just a few days ago, and I thought she had gone to heaven before me, so I was shocked to learn that she was crying out in hell, saying she wanted to be saved; I was also very surprised to see that there were a pastor, an elder, a deaconess, and a deacon in hell. Lord, why did you not send me to hell despite my lack of faith compared to theirs, but called me to heaven. While I was weeping with gratitude, they said, “We are going to meet the Lord now; let us sing hymns together,” so we sang and danced with the angels until we reached a large marble door. When I entered that door, I found myself in front of the judgment seat. Many people were trembling with fear, waiting for their turn. When their names were called, their sins were shown on a screen like a movie before the judgment seat, and they were asked whether the verdict was true before a verdict was delivered. I entered heaven under the guidance of the archangel, and the beautiful fragrance was intoxicating. Joy and peace overflowed, and beautiful flowers were blooming endlessly. Everyone was praising God. The baby angels welcomed me. In heaven, everyone floats through the air. The archangel who went ahead told me that it was Jesus. Jesus stood with His arms spread wide, clothed in shining white. Without even looking at his face, I crawled down and fell at Jesus’ feet with my head bowed. Then he called me, “My beloved daughter.” However, I didn't have the courage to answer. Hear the voice of the Lord calling me a third time; here I am, Lord. I ran over and hugged you. Then the Lord said, “My beloved daughter, welcome; how much have you suffered?” Hearing this, I was moved to tears. I also met Elder Kim, who would become my father-in-law, there. But listen, beloved daughter, Jesus. You have not arrived in heaven. The mission is not over yet. You became a servant of love, earned much merit, and received the medal of evangelism three times, yet you failed to save your children, even the most basic. Not even one out of ten is a child of true faith. Go back to the world quickly and save your children and relatives. After he said, "Then I’ll call you back," I came to life. That is why I am sharing this testimony. I received it three times, but I failed to save your children, even the most basic. Not even one out of ten is a child of true faith.
