(서울=연합뉴스) 오규진 기자 = 우원식 국회의장은 24일 미국 공화당 소속 하원의원들이 강경화 주미대사에게 쿠팡 등에 대한 차별적 규제를 중단하라고 서한을 보낸 것과 관련해 "명백한 내정간섭"이라며 강력하게 비판했다.

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Oh Kyu-jin = National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik strongly criticized U.S. Republican Ambassador to the U.S. on the 24th, calling it "clear interference in domestic affairs" in response to a letter from House Republicans to stop discriminatory regulations on Coupang and others.

우원식 의장은 이날 SBS 라디오 '김태현의 정치쇼'에 출연, "이것은 있을 수 없는 일"이라며 이같이 말했다.

Chairman Woo appeared on SBS radio's 'Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show' and said, "This cannot happen."​

그는 "국회의원들이 다른 나라에 대해서 이런저런 의견이 있으면 편지 보내는 건 그럴 수 있다. 그런데 그 나라의 법률이나 그 나라의 근본 기관에 대해서 건드리는 건 안 된다"고 밝혔다.

"It is possible for lawmakers to send letters if they have opinions about other countries. But they should not touch their laws or their fundamental institutions," he said.

이어 쿠팡에 대해 "대규모 개인정보 유출도 있고, 알고리즘 조작 의혹도 있다. 이건 명백한 현행법 위반"이라며 "'미국 기업들에 대한 편파적인 조치'라고 얘기하는 것은 우리가 가지고 있는 법률을 인정하지 않겠다는 소리"라고 강조했다.

Regarding Coupang, he said, "There are massive personal information leaks and suspicions of algorithm manipulation. This is a clear violation of the current law," adding, "To say that it is a biased measure against U.S. companies means that we will not recognize the laws we have."

그는 "(쿠팡은) 대한민국에 와서 기업을 하고 돈을 벌면 대한민국 법률을 지키고, 대한민국 정부의 조치에 따라야 될 것 아닌가"라며 "대한민국 국민들에게 예의를 갖춰야 한다"고 지적했다.

"(Cupang) should abide by the laws of the Republic of Korea and follow the measures of the Korean government if he comes to Korea and makes money," he said. "They should be polite to the Korean people."

우원식 의장은 또 국민의힘 장동혁 대표의 최근 방미를 두고 "당 안에서도 매서운 소리가 나온다. 그것은 참 의아하다"고 꼬집었다.

Woo also pointed out the party's recent visit to the U.S. by Jang Dong-hyuk, the leader of the People's Power Party(PPP), saying, "There is a bitter sound coming from within the party. It is quite a mystery."

그러면서 "지방선거 과정을 보면 (국민의힘 광역단체장 후보들이) 장동혁 대표와 분리해서 각자도생하고 있다"며 "그런 점에서 (장동혁 대표가) 한번 그동안의 거취를 살펴볼 필요가 있다"고 조언했다.

"If you look at the local election process, (the candidates for the head of the People's Power metropolitan government) are separating themselves from representative Jang," he said. "In that sense, it is necessary for (representative Jang) to look at his future."

우원식 의장은 국민의힘의 개헌 반대 당론에 "납득이 안 된다"고 말했다.

Woo said he "doesn't accept" the party's argument against the constitutional amendment of the People's Power Party(PPP).

아울러 "앞으로 개헌이 필요하다는 데 동의하고 있다면 이번에 하는 것은 당연하다"며 "국민의힘 의원들이 현명하게 판단해서 불법 비상계엄의 강을 같이 건너고, 장 대표도 그렇게 했으면 좋겠다"고 덧붙였다.

"If you agree that a constitutional amendment is needed in the future, it is natural to do it this time," he said, adding, "I hope the People's Power Party(PPP) lawmakers will make a wise judgment and cross the river of illegal emergency martial law together, and CEO Jang will do the same."
