이곳에서 북쪽으로 52마일 거리에 위치한 Bitter Springs Baptist Church에서 예배드렸다.

메시지는 출애굽을 위한 바로와의 흥정.

수백 년을 살던 땅을 떠나는 일은 쉽지 않았다.

특히 이스라엘을 붙잡아놓고 노역을 시키던 바로의 입장에서는 더더욱.

바로는 어쩔 수 없는 해방자 하나님의 존재 앞에서도 쉽사리 물러서지 않고 타협을 시도한다.

그러나 결국 가야 하는 약속의 땅이 있는 한 타협은 불가하다.

천국을 향하는 우리의 여정에 얼마나 많은 타협이 닥쳐오는가.

어떻게 우리는 적당한 타협이 아니라 천국 목표에 집중할 수 있을지.

개인과 역사에게 주어지는 도전이다.

전하면서도, 들으면서도 감당하기 어려운 도전.

그런 가운데 경험하게 되는 무력감.

해법이 무엇일까...

예배야 누구든, 몇이든 진심으로 드린다만...

20260920 The Lord's Day Worship.

We worshiped at Bitter Springs Baptist Church, located 52 miles north of here.

The message was a negotiation with Pharaoh for the Exodus.

Leaving the land where they had lived for hundreds of years was not easy.

Especially from Pharaoh's perspective, who had been holding Israel captive and forcing them into labor.

Pharaoh, even before the presence of the inevitable liberator God, did not easily back down but attempted compromise.

But as long as there is a promised land to reach, compromise is impossible.

How many compromises await us on our journey to the Kingdom.

How can we focus on the goal of heaven instead of making mere compromises.

It is a challenge to the individual and to history.

A challenge that is hard to bear, both while delivering and while listening.

And the helplessness that comes with it.
