This course is currently under review and may change in structure for 2007.
This course involves training in areas of electronic media and digital technologies for visual communication, arts and design based employment outcomes. Various disciplines across a range of industry sectors are taught in response to employment requirements of local industry.
Typically this includes skills and knowledge of digital design and production for video, animation, sound, illustration and interactivity. Emphasis is placed on conceptual development of ideas and applied design in response to set briefs. Preparation, planning and project management to ensure efficiency and professionalism are key factors in the production of folio material.
This course is also available to International Students.
Two sixteen week semesters
You must have completed at least one year of a related design course or one year of industry related experience.
You are selected based on a short interview and presentation of a folio. Emphasis is placed on your aptitude for design. Your folio should show evidence of organisational ability and motivation.
Full time - one year
This course commences in February and there is no mid-year intake.
Apply through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) and also contact Box Hill Institute's Centre for Media, Design and Arts in October to obtain further information and arrange an interview, which will be held in late November early December.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide information about occupational health and safety policies and practices, and hazard and risk control in the workplace, to the work group. It covers a range of industry contexts involving a variety of different conditions and hazards. It also describes occupational health and safety competencies applicable for employees with supervisory responsibilities.
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to protect creative work and performance from unauthorised use.
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to make creative and technical edit decisions and monitor the editing process for film, television, radio and multimedia productions. Editing decisions will apply whether using film, video or digital media in the editing process.
