1. cannot...enough

cannot + 동사원형 + enough

: 아무리 ~해도 지나치지 않다 → ★ 특정 동작, 상황 강조

ex)

We cannot emphasize enough how beautiful the temples surrounded by bright lights are.

밝은 빛으로 둘러싸인 사원들이 얼마나 아름다운지는 아무리 강조해도 지나치지 않습니다.

I cannot thank you enough for your help.

당신의 도움에 아무리 감사해도 지나치지 않습니다.

You cannot be careful enough when you drive in the snow.

눈길에서 운전할 때는 아무리 조심해도 지나치지 않습니다.

2. with 분사구문

분사구문

- 부사절을 현재분사로 시작하는 부사구로 줄여 쓴 것

- 시간, 이유, 조건, 동시동작 등을 의미

ex)

With her hands shaking, she opened the letter.

그녀는 손을 떨면서 편지를 열었다.

She stood there, with her eyes closed.

그녀는 눈을 감은 채 그곳에 서 있었다.

He was listening to music, with his head nodding to the beat.

그는 리듬에 맞춰 고개를 끄덕이며 음악을 듣고 있었다.

★ 분사구문 만드는 법

① 접속사 생략하기

② (주절의 주어와 같을 때) 부사절의 주어 생략하기

③ 동사를 현재분사로 바꾸기

ex)

If you exercise everyday, you will get healthier.

→ You exercise everyday, you will get healthier.

→ Exercise everyday, you will get healthier.

→ Exercising everyday, you will get healthier.

= Exercising everyday, you will get healthier.
