Mr. Go Gwon-Il, chairman of the Gangjeong village, Lee Tae-Ho, Co-convener of the National Network of Korean Civil Society for Opposing to the Naval Base in Jeju Island, and Ms. Hong Ri-Ri, Chairwoman of the Jeju Women’s association made speeches in the ceremony. Ms. Hong Ri-Ri reminded people of March 8 Women’s Day event which was the next day of March 7.
During the march, people threw paper peace planes inside the naval base project committee building complex.
In the candle vigil, many people including Mr. Lee Choong-Hee, son of one of the five victims in the Yongsan tragedy and who was recently released from the prison, Fr. Mun Jeong-Hyeon, and Lee Jin-Hee who has a painful experience of her mother victimized during 4.3 incident etc made speeches. Dungree movie on the blast of the Gureombi Rock and people's protest on it last year was also screened. The movies would be posted around March 6. More details will come later.
