I do want to ask sensible Red Sox fans why you guys hate Kim so much. the difference between Kim and Williamson in Game 1 and 5 is the Lowe came into clean up Scotty's mess whereas Embree gave up the tying hit. While walking the 8th hitter and proceeding to hit the 9th hitter is not good baseball, he got two outs. You don't know what he would have done against Durazo. Embree got the blown save, not Kim yet I clearly remember Boston papers saying Kim blew the game. I also see a earlier post in which a guy says Kim was lit up this series. What? He let two runners on but gave up no hits? How is that getting lit up? Bottom line: He is a very good reliever, definitely the best you got when he is on. Perhaps he is better suited as a starter since I do see that he does have a fragile psyche. But don't just run him out of town. You make too much sense for the emotional Sox fans. All they remember is the 2001 WS and any small mistake from Kim and they won't forgive him. Williamson gets all the chances in the world despite screwing up during the regular season, even Sauerbeck seems to be ahead of Kim on the depth chart in the pen. Little won't let him near the 9th inning with the game on the line against New York not because of the bird incident, but because he has repeatedly failed against the Yankees this year in that situation.
