미국의 락 밴드 더 낵이 1979년 6월에 발매한 싱글이며 이들의 데뷔 앨범 Get the Knack의 첫 싱글로 발매되었죠. 파격적인 곡 구성과 중독적인 훅으로 공전의 히트를 거둔 곡입니다. 파워풀한 멜로디와 베이스 워킹이 일품이지만 곡의 진짜 백미는 기타솔로 파트로 극강의 비브라토와 다채로운 레가토가 특징입니다. 웬만큼 방구석에서 기타 좀 쳐봤다 하는 기타리스트들도 만만하게 생각하고 도전했다가 손가락이 꼬이는 곡 중 하나죠. 노래속 샤로나는 더그 피거의 연인이었던 샤로나 알페린(Sharona Alperin)으로 피거는 그녀와 만난지 15분만에 이 노래를 만들었다고 합니다.빌보드 핫 100에서 6주 연속 1위를 기록했다. 1979년 빌보드 핫 100 연말 차트에선 1위, 1958년~2018년 빌보드 핫 100 올타임 차트에선 95위에 올랐다. 국내에서는 1990년대 '출발! 비디오여행'에서 삽입된 적이 있고, 차인표, 유오성이 나온 한솔PCS 원샷 018 C에 배경음악으로 삽입되면서 아주 유명해졌습니다.
