송강호씨, 이발사 역을 매우 실감나게 연기하셨는데, 그 역할을 위해 특별한 훈련을 받아야 했나요?
송: 그렇습니다. 역할을 위해 진짜 이발사가 되려고 노력했죠. 한달 정도, 사람들 머리를 자르고 면도해주는 기술을 배우고 연습했습니다. 그래서 사실 지금은 진짜 이발사처럼 남자들 머리는 자를 수 있죠. 아직 제 기술이 완벽한 것은 아니지만, 그리 나쁜 편도 아니라고 생각합니다. (웃음)

Mr. Song, you played the role of barber really lifelikely, did you have to take a special lesson for the character?
Song: Definitely. I tried to be a real barber for the role. I learned and exercised the skill to cut the hair and to get a shave for a month. Actually now I can cut the men"s hair like a barber. My skill is not perfect yet but it"s not so bad, I think.(laugh)

Mr. Song, your portrayal of a barber was very realistic. Did you have to undergo any special training to prepare for the role?
Song: Yes. I tried to become a real barber to play the role. For about a month, I learned and then practiced cutting people"s hair and shaving. So I can actually cut men"s hair now like a real barber. Maybe my skills aren"t perfect yet, but I don"t think I"m too bad. (laughs)

Did you examine into the character for the new film "Troy" a lot?
Pete: Fortunetly, the original "Illiad" has been researched widely. Many people wrote for this novel through the generations. So there are los of related information. I chose the most meaningful materials for me. It was not so difficult. Achilles was a really lonely man that was eager to know who he was. He was one of the most remarkable characters

문: 이유는 잘 모르겠지만, 1960년대와 1970년대의 어머니들은 파마 머리를 하는 경우가 많았어요. 제 역할은 정말로 평범한 여성으로 전형적인 한국의 어머니이자 아내이거든요. 그래서, 가능한 사실적으로 제 역할을 하기 위해, 파마 머리는 필수 였죠.

I don"t know why, but it"s true that most of our mothers in 1960s" and 1970s" got their hair permed. My role in the moive was a very ordinary woman who was an typically Korean mother and wife. So having my hair permed was a must to play my role in the film as real as possible .

문소리씨, 영화 속에서의 의상이 형평 없었는데, 극중 배역의 패션 감각에 대해 어떻게 생각하나요?
문: 제가 연기하는 인물이 행색이 초라하다는건 저도 알아요. 그러나 역할을 위해, 가능한 촌스럽게 옷을 입어야 했죠. 제 촌스러운 핑크 한복은 영화 속에 제 의상 중에 단연 하이라이트였어요. 예쁘게 보이지는 않지만, 제 역할이 정말로 마음에 들었어요.

I think you wore in such a nasty way in the movie, how do you feel about the dress sense of the character you played a role ?
 I know the character I had acted looked shabby. For the sake of my role, however, I had to wear clothes as poorly as possible. My pink Korean traditional costume, Han-bok, was such a highlight among all the clothes I had worn in the flick. I really liked my role, which didn"t make me look nice.

영역:Miss Moon, the clothes you wore in the movie were terrible. What did you think of your character"s fashion sense?

I know that my character was poorly dressed. But to play the role, I had to dress as poorly as possible. My rustic pink Korean dress was the highlight of my clothes collection in the movie. Although I didn"t look pretty, I enjoyed playing the role very much.

60, 70년대의 평범한 여성이 되어 보는 것은 제게 재미있는 경험이었습니다. 그리고 우리가 영화를 찍는 동안 우리가 마치 한 가족 같은 느낌이 들었죠.

송강호씨, 영화를 찍는데 가장 어려웠던 점은 무엇이었습니까?
송: 제 캐릭터가 경험하는 일들을 표현하는 일이 쉽지는 않았습니다. 또한, 1960년대의 아버지 상이 요즘의 아버지들과는 사뭇 다르기 때문에 그 역할을 연기하는 일이 어려웠습니다. 그 당시 아버지들은 지금보다 엄격했고, 필요에 따라 체벌도 했죠. 그러나, 지금 아버지들에 비해 자식에 대한 더 깊은 사랑의 감정을 갖고 있었다고 생각합니다.

Mr. Song, what was the most difficult in filming the show?

Song: It was not an easy matter to express the experiences of  the character I played. It was hard to play a father role in the 1960s as well because the fathers at that time were quite different from those of today. I think they were more strict and used corporal punishment when necessary. However, they did have deeper love toward their children than those of today.

Mr. Song, what was the most difficult aspect of filming the movie?
Song: It wasn"t easy to reflect the experiences that my character goes through. Also, it was very hard to portray a father of the 1960s because he is somewhat different from modern father figures. Fathers at that time were stricter than they are today, and they beat their children when necessary. But I think they had a deeper sense of love towards their children than today"s fathers.

촬영 중 재미있었던 에피소드가 있었나요?

문: 영화 속에서, 4.19 혁명 행렬이 있던 날 아들을 낳아요. 남편이 성난 군중을 뚫고 리어카에 저를 싣고 병원으로 데리고 가야 했죠. 그 장면을 찍기 위해, 우리는 많은 엑스트라 배우들이 필요 했습니다. 시위대를 연기할 고등학교 학생들을 많이 고용했죠.

 M : I gave a birth a boy on 4.19 revolution parade. My husband had to bring me in the cart to the hospital through the furious crowd. For that scene we had a lot of extra actors. Many high school students had part-time jobs for lots of street demonstrators.

송: 모두가 다 알듯이, 문소리씨는 이제 세계적인 스타이고 그래서 문소리씨의 연기에 대해서는 언급할 필요가 없습니다. 문소리씨의 연기는 완벽하죠. 또한 동시에 매우 자연스럽고 인상적이죠. 정말로 멋진 배우라고 생각합니다.

피트: 다행히도 원작 ‘일리아드’에 대한 조사가 많이 이루어져 왔습니다. 여러 세대를 거쳐 이 소설에 대한 글을 썼던 사람들이 많았죠. 그래서 관련 정보는 많았어요. 저는 저에게 가장 중요한 의미를 지니는 자료들을 선별했죠. 그렇게 어려운 일은 아니었습니다. 아킬레스는 자신이 누군가를 찾고 싶어했던 정말 고독한 사람이었어요. 그는 문학사상 가장 비범한 인물들 중 한명이죠.

Did you do a lot of research on your character for your new movie Troy?
Pitt: Fortunately, there"s a lot of research that"s been done on The Iliad. Many people have written about it throughout the ages, so there was plenty of information. I selected the things that meant the most to me. It wasn"t that difficult. He"s a really isolated person who"s in search of himself. Achilles is one of literature"s most extraordinary characters.

‘일리어드’를 전권을 읽으셨나요?
피트: 사실 이런 질문을 받을 줄 알고 다 읽었습니다(웃음). 하지만 처음 읽었을 때 정말 몰입하게 됐죠. 내용이 아주 멋지거든요. 또 그에 대한 영화와 소설도 많이 봤습니다.

Have you read the whole books of Illiad ?
Pitt: Knowing you would ask me this kind of question, I"ve read all (laughing). But I got immersed in it when I started to read. The stories are really cool. I saw movies and novels  a lot about it as well.

피트: 아주 환상적이었습니다. 독특한 전투 스타일을 찾는 작업이 중요했습니다. 모든 전술에 대한 책임을 맡고 있었던 사이먼 크레인이 전투씬 무술지도를 맡았습니다. 그는 ‘라이언 일병 구하기’와 ‘브레이브 하트’를 맡았던 사람인 만큼 그가 적격이었죠.

How you like the styles of martial art used in battle-full scenes?
Pete: It was incredible. It was crucial to find a peculiar battle style. Simon Crane,who was responsible for all the tactics of the movie, was in charge of giving martial art lessons to actors. He was really cut out for that job since he had done the same thing in the movies, "Saving Private Ryan" and " Brave Heart"

What do you think about the choreography of the fight scenes?

Pitt: The choreography was fantastic. It was very important that we find a distinct fighting style. Simon Crane, who was responsible for all of the strategies, did the choreography of the fights. He worked on Saving Private Ryan and Brave Heart, so he was the best man for the job.

지금 정말 멋져 보이시는데요. 이런 몸매를 만들기가 어렵지 않으셨나요?
피트: 최근에 40세가 됐는데 그게 동기부여가 됐죠. 저는 40세가 되는 게 진짜 ‘영광의 훈장’이라고 생각합니다. 그래서 아주 좋아했죠. 이제 더 이상은 변명이 먹히지 않는 거죠. 바로 제가 모든 책임을 지게 되는 겁니다. 부모님 원망도 할 수 없게 된 거고요. 제 실수나 선택 모든 것에 대한 책임이 이제 제게 있는 겁니다.

You look really fabulous now. Was it not hard to keep in this shape?

Pete: I recently turned 40 and that motivated me. I personally think becoming 40 years old is a real " mark of honor" . So  I was very excited. No more excuses are allowed now. It has to be I who should take all the responsibilities. I can"t blame parents.  l have the full responsibilities of all the mistakes and choices I make.

You look great. How hard was it getting in shape?
Pitt: I recently turned 40 years old and that got me motivated. I see turning 40 as a real badge of honor. I really kind of enjoyed it. No more excuses, you know? I"m responsible. I can"t blame anything on my parents. I"m responsible for my mistakes and my choices.

피트: 아니요, 아무것도 안 했습니다. 제 생일에는 ‘트로이’의 전투씬을 찍었어요. 그냥 일이 끝나고 친구들과 아내와 소박하고 조용하지만 근사한 저녁식사를 했습니다. 집에서 먹는 소박하고 근사한 식사였어요.

Pitt : No, nothing. I filmed Troy battle scene in my birthday. After work, I had a simple, quiet  but nice dinner  with my wife and friends. It was simple and nice dinner we had at home.

피트: 정말 고됐죠. 영화 촬영이 시작되기 6개월 전부터 시작했죠. 단백질 함량이 높고 탄수화물은 적은 음식들로 하루 4끼씩 식사를 했죠. 담배를 끊고 하루 3시간씩 운동을 하는 건 정말 고역이었어요. 하지만 3개월 후에는 즐기면서 할 수 있게 됐죠.

Pete: It was really hard. I started it 6months ago from shooting the movie. I had 4 meals a day as food that contained a large percentage of protein and a little carbohydrate. I had a hard time to quit smoking and do exercise a three-hour day. But after 3months, I could enjoy it.

I guess that you don`t have enough time for individual life for your huge work.

I didn`t do my job for 2 years before this movie. So my wife, Jeniffer( Anystern) and I shared a lot of time. We are satisfied with seeing each other when the time allows us to get together, since we understand what our job is completely.

Pitt: I didn"t work at all for two years before doing this film. So my wife Jennifer [Aniston] and I spent a lot of time together. We both accept this aspect of our business, and we"re glad to see each other whenever we can.

피트: 시간을 되돌리고 싶어요. 몇 가지 일을 되돌리고 싶습니다. 제 인생의 모든 부분에 대해 만족하는 건 아니거든요. 하지만 실수를 통해 교훈을 얻을 수 있다고 믿고 있습니다.
