Leftovers, A Remnant
And they all ate and were satisfied, and they picked up what was left over of the broken pieces, seven large baskets full. Matthew 15:37
A remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God. Isaiah 10:21
All the leftovers are often for women. Like food, sometimes some people are not as appreciated as others. In this case, we use the expression 'unqualified.' It's often because of what the person has, possession, power, and so on. If you acknowledge the importance of a person's unique personality, you will not be able to differentiate between people. They are only recognized differently for their uniqueness.
The Lord left many miracles. Of course, we who live today do not want such a same miracle. Rather than waiting for the miracle of , I would choose to go to the mart and buy something to eat. The Lord's miracle we read today makes us know the Lord's feelings and five loaves of bread and two fish the meaning of his ministry. When He performed the miracle, you can look at the record and hope that something, whether it's a blessing or a fluke, will go better than expected to be applied to your situation.
But if you look a little carefully in today's speech, you will be able to pay attention to the Lord's actions after the miracle. The LORD said, "Don't throw away the leftover, so they gathered them in seven baskets." Of course, you may be curious about what you're going to do by collecting the leftovers, and you may be thinking it to prepare for the future. But here we're just paying attention to the expression that the Lord did not throw away the leftovers, and that they were filled in seven baskets.
The leftovers are not commercially viable. It's not even worth collecting them and typing them in numbers. However, these actions of the Lord are shown to be the same as the heart of God's providence that has been seen since or throughout Israel's history. The history of Israel is not like that of any conqueror. Reading the Bible, many Christians must have been disappointed. Israel is coming to an end. And it's showing a history of never recovering again.
But in Isaiah's writings, we can see the providence of God. And you will realize that this is the same as the Lord's actions. Isaiah writes.
A remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God. Isaiah 10:21
But there was nothing they could do. They couldn't rebuild the country and they didn't deserve to fight with other countries. It was like the leftovers that the Lord ordered to collect after the miracle of five bread and two fish.
What do people value themselves with? What are you trying to explain yourself with? Believers, as many people do, try to explain themselves and value themselves in terms of possession, power, or their numbers and scales. But the leftovers of the LORD'S harvest are not by these standards, but are gathered only in pursuit of providence, and they fill seven baskets. It's an expression of the subject that we're sharing so far, the fullness.
Where does our fullness come from? It comes from knowing that we are in the providence of the Lord. And your providence is to accept ourselves as we are. We can be a leftover in some ways or we can be a remnant in Israeli history. But God collects these men and fills them. Because we are worthy as who we are to be unified with the Lord.
