안녕하세요 Cafe USA 회원 여러분, 7월 대사관 청소년 포럼 (Embassy Youth Forum) 온라인 참여에 대해 알려드립니다. 7 월 20 일 (금) 에 열리는 이번 포럼에서는 제임스 줌월트 미국무부 동아태 담당 부차관보 (James Zumwalt, Deputy Assistant Secretary, Japan and Korean Affairs, U.S. Department of State)와 함께 다양한 이야기를 나눌 예정입니다. 아쉽게도 현장 참석은 마감되었지만 온라인을 통해 무슨 이야기가 오가는지 보실 수 있고, 궁금한 점은 질문 남겨주시면 실시간으로 답변을 받으실 수도 있으니 관심있는 분들의 많은 참여 기대합니다. 일시: 2012년 7월 2일 월요일 오전 10시 ~ 오후 12시 주한미국대사관 페이스북 (라이브스트림): http://goo.gl/JmxRc [Biography] James Zumwalt Deputy Assistant Secretary Japan And Korean Affairs U.S. Department of State James Zumwalt began his tour as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Japan and Korean affairs on January 3, 2012. He previously served as the Embassy Tokyo’s Deputy Chief of Mission. Mr. Zumwalt was Director of the Office of Japanese Affairs in the Department of State, Washington, D.C. (2006-2008) and has served prior assignments in Japan, as Economic Minister Counselor (2002-2006), Embassy Tokyo Economic Officer (1989-1993) and Consulate Kobe Consular Officer (1983-85). His other assignments abroad have been as Economic Minister-Counselor in Embassy Beijing (1999-2002) and as Economic Officer in Embassy Kinshasa (1981-83). In Washington, D.C., Mr. Zumwalt has previously worked in the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs Korea and Philippine desks, and in the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs Front Office. He has also worked in the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs and on a detail to the United States Trade Representative's Office of Japan and China. Mr. Zumwalt is fluent in Japanese and also speaks some Chinese and French. Mr. Zumwalt received a master's degree in International Security Studies from the National War College in 1998 and a bachelor of arts in American History and also in Japanese Language from U.C.
