Carmelite Day Nursery is located at Ossington and Dundas. The childcare offers children programs from infant to school ages.
We are currently searching for a full time registered early childhood education for our Toronto (Ossington and Dundas) location. The daycare has a strong reputation in the community. The successful candidate must be open to and capable to work with children between infant - preschool. Experience with young children is a definite asset.

Responsibilities and Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation and planning of an age-appropriate inclusive play-based learning and care program which enhances their cognitive, social, physical and emotional development of children in his/her care.
Duties:
Responsible for the planning, implementation and delivery of an inclusive play-based learning program which is developmentally and culturally appropriate program which meets the needs of the children.
Implements an anti-bias curriculum by promoting diversity and acceptance of individual differences.
Facilitates and guides the development and behaviour of children.
Implements individual plans (IPs) by integrating identified goals into the daily program & routines.
Establishes routines with clearly identifiable transition periods.
Prepares a weekly written program plan using a variety of resources and materials.
Consults with specialists and other professionals regarding additional support.
Conducts child observations and prepares reposts as assigned.
Promotes the centre's philosophy and communicates issues to parents in a positive, professional and respectful manner.
Forms collaborative partnerships with families
Keeps accurate records of: daily attendance, daily activity plans.
Attends regular staff meetings and participates by contributing information.
Performs housekeeping and simple meal preparation/setup
Ability to clearly present thoughts and to ask specific questions to clarify.
Ensures health and safety of each child.
Qualifications and Skills
The position will be 40 hours per week.
The rate is $26.53/hour for a Registered Early Childhood Educator.
The candidate may be eligible for additional PWE funding for 2023.
Successful candidates will require a fresh criminal reference, CPR (level C) certified and have a health form filled out with Ministry required immunizations.
The successful candidate must be a graduate with an EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION DIPLOMA to qualify for this position. Please make sure the program you graduated with is specified/named on the education portion of your resume.
The successful candidate must be available to work Monday-Friday weekly between 7:30-6:00pm.
