Reform is not about changing clothes, it's about returning to basics. It's
about restoring the authority of words. Being comfortable and familiar
can sometimes be the most dangerous device that distorts the essence.
Real reform is to break down the existing me and be born into a new me.

If you look at Goryeo history and Joseon Dynasty, there are quite a few
short-lived kings within two to three years of being crowned. From Wang
Geon's son Hyejong (943-945), Jeongjong (945-949), King Chungjeong
(1348-3351), King Chang (1388-1389), and King Gongyang (1389-1392),
five people were poisoned or deposed. The Joseon Dynasty also followed
similar steps by Jeongjong (1398-1400), Munjong (1450-1452), King
Danjong (1452-4155), King Yejong (1468-1469), King Injong (1544-1545),
and Sunjong (1907-1910).

This is the story of Nadab, the second king of Israel in the Northern Kingdom,
who died two years after he was crowned king, and when he died, all the
family members died. The direct cause was rebellion, but not only did he do
evil in the eyes of Jehovah, but his father Jeroboam committed a crime, as
the prophet Ahiya said.
-
Baasa son of Ahijah of the Issacharites rebelled and killed King Nadab. Ahiya
here is not really Ahiya, the priest, but Ahiya the Issachar. The tribe of Issachar,
which Baasa belongs to, is a small tribe that is incomparable to the tribe of
Ephraim, which belongs to Nadab. But Baasa, an Issachar, removed Nadab
and took power.
-
The reason for this was that the bonds between the tribes were weak in Israel
in the Northern Kingdom at that time, and above all, the prophecy of the
Prophet Ahiya was fulfilled. The fall of the Yeoroboam family. I think he was
able to succeed in treason because he was a real military force in Israel.
During the siege of Gibbdon, Baasa raised an army and overpowered the
king. From that point of view, he seems to have been the Minister of the
Armed Forces of Israel in the Northern Kingdom. It is difficult for a coup to
succeed without the consent of the military commander.
-
The coup was also easy because it was a battlefield, not a palace. It is
evidenced in the article in the preceding section of the text that he was a
soldier. Baassai was the king who went all the way to Ramah, right under
the nose of Jerusalem in Judah, and threatened the South. It seems to be
a similar case to Lee Seong-gye, the founder of Joseon, who went out to
conquer Liaodong with 100,000 soldiers and then returned to the army in
Wihwado Island, effectively taking power. Even now, coups are being
carried out by soldiers from underdeveloped countries.
-
But a bloody coup by force has wiped out the legitimacy of royal authority in
the Northern Kingdom. Since then, it has been the fate of Northern Israel that
such a vicious cycle has been repeated. The area 'Gibbdon' was originally a
city of the Philistines that was distributed to the Dan tribe during the conquest
of Canaan. However, it doesn't seem to have taken over for sure.
-
Because it appears as a city of the Philistines in the time of the Divided Kingdom.
It was located on the road connecting Aegean and Shiraa, and it was also a
military point to control the coastal road. So that's where Israel and the Philistines
went to war to occupy each other. Coincidentally, when Baasa rebelled against
Nadab, it was also when he attacked Gibbdon, and when Ella, Baasa's son, was
rebelled by Simri, it was during the Gibbdon attack.
-
The fate of Nadab, the second king of Northern Israel, was death.
Although he said he died while fighting, it is not an exaggeration to say that he
died without fulfilling his life expectancy because of his father, YeoRoboam.
This is because Jeroboam received a warning prophecy from the prophet
Ahiya earlier. Because he did evil and made idols, and he condemned not
only himself but also Israel, causing God's anger.
-
That's why he said he'd put a disaster on the house and cut it off without
leaving any of his descendants behind. It's exactly what it is. He didn't just die,
but the whole family was destroyed because he met his father in the wrong.
The problem is that Jeroboam is a man who was chosen by God and became
king. The fall of Solomon left Israel He was made into a country and God
established him as king. There will be no king as wise as Solomon.
-
Even Solomon, he was selected and held the best government post at the time,
so he was very lucky. It was Jeroboam who was recognized by the world and
recognized by heaven. But he was eventually cursed by God. In addition, the
kingdom has become an unlucky one that cannot exceed three generations in
the world. There was a word from God when he became king.
-
It was said that God will be with you if you obey the word of God, do it in the way,
and obey rules and orders like David. It was only that. You didn't set any other
conditions. No orders to enrich the country, no orders to expand its territory.
Orji, just keep that.
-
He must have known that. But it didn't run. As a result, all of his descendants
died because of him. Perhaps Nadab had to fight his distrust of idolatry but
not afraid of God before he died with the Philistines.
-
What does repentance mean to the kings of Israel? What should I do and how?
What am I into now, with my recovery from God on the back burner?

God, who judges North Israel through rebellion, who has committed evil
deeds, what is the difficulty of breaking off from the sins of the past for me?
Please judge this society, which has been destroyed by human wickedness
and immorality of structure. Let us learn with fear the punishment of God
shown through Nadab and Baasa, and let this punishment serve as an
opportunity for society to purify and reflect on me.
