테슬라, 색상 옵션 줄이기로 결정
Tesla chief executive Elon Musk tweeted the electric automaker is nixing two colors off its menu. Starting Wednesday, Obsidian Black and Metallic Silver are out. They'll only be available on special request and at a higher price. Analysts say Tesla is trying to simplify production to speed up assembly of its most affordable sedan, the Model 3. Kelley Blue Book's executive analyst Akshay Anand. "I think it'll probably be a potentially minor difference, but honestly, any difference helps, right? Especially, you know, this is a company that's mass producing its first large scale vehicle or large volume vehicle. They need to get every little thing right. So, if this helps them, then, I think, we're all for it." Tesla shares closed up more than eight percent on Monday after two brokerages said it could meet its production targets for the second half of the year. But the stock fell more than three percent Tuesday morning.

(2) Samsung doubles down in India to help spur growth
삼성, 성장 촉진 위해 인도에 집중 투자
Samsung is pushing to take pole position in India. It's the world's fastest growing major market for phones and Samsung wants to jump ahead of Chinese competition. On Tuesday, it opened its biggest mobile store in the world, in a restored colonial-era opera house. "For us Samsung Opera House, which is the world's largest mobile experience center, is essentially a place where we will bring culture, art, socializing, entertainment together with technology, innovation, start-up culture and really blend the two in." India's billion-plus wireless subscribers are drawing in phone makers. It's a tempting market as demand slows down in the U.S. and even in China. Samsung is betting big that it's the company's next moneymaker, as it tries to recover from sluggish second quarter earnings. The firm is ploughing $700 million into this new phone factory in the outskirts of New Delhi, which Samsung says is the biggest in the world. It's helping to bolster ties between South Korea and India. President Moon Jae-in travelled to New Delhi in July, and jointly inaugurated factory with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Success in India could also help Samsung edge out its global rival Apple, which is yet to open any flagship stores in the country.

(3) Apple unveils larger iPhones
애플, 더 커진 아이폰 공개
Apple took the wraps off its new iPhones and Watch Wednesday. They're the largest iPhones ever. Otherwise, the changes were minor. Apple's new phones are the XS, with a 5.8-inch screen, starting at $999 and the XS Max, with a 6.5-inch screen and a price tag topping a thousand dollars. It also put out a lower-cost 6.1-inch iPhone XR, made of aluminum. Prices start at $749. Gerber Kawasaki CEO Ross Gerber: "Quite frankly, Apple needs a new pony here, and, you know, selling iPhone is sort of a diminishing return, making them bigger, making them more expensive, and relying on services where you're getting a cut of other people's innovation. It seems to me like a precarious position, and, the only reason they really have it, is because they're a monopoly. So, you know, Apple has some work to do." Analysts say Apple is looking for ways to lessen its reliance on phones for revenue. The company also upgraded its Apple Watch, which now comes with a bigger display and functions that, the company hopes, make it a more comprehensive health device. Apple shares fell on the news. The stock has risen more than 30 percent this year, making Apple the first publicly traded U.S. company to hit a market value of more than $1 trillion.

(5) British air taxi firm takes flight, inspired by F1 racing advances
F1 경주 승리로 고무된 영국 항공 택시 회사
Vertical Aviation's vision of a flying taxi service – in the not too distant future. It's an unmanned single-passenger prototype - that sets the stage for more ambitious work; a fixed-wing, piloted version capable of carrying passengers. The race to build new inter-city "flying taxi" services with drone technology has some big players from Airbus to Uber - or Volocopter, which is testing drone taxis with 18 rotors. But Vertical aims to skip the tech revolution needed for autonomous flight that most are planning. They're offering short-haul, inter-city flights with a pilot in four years - believing it can overcome regulatory and safety concerns. And now targeting some of the most congested air corridors in the world with an aircraft that doesn’t need a runway, but has enough oomph travel up to 500 miles. Eventually the plan is to extend the aircraft's range and introduce elements of autonomous flight and expand the number of routes it can serve.
