조카 영어 숙제

서울 사는 중1 조카가 주말에만 배달되는 영어 숙제가 있는지 발등에 불떨어져서 메일을 띄우곤 합니다.

그 중에서 제일 잘 쓴 최근 숙제인데요. 몇 군데는 손봐야 되지만 서론, 본론, 결론이 다 있는 전체 구성이 참 장하다 싶어요, ㅎㅎㅎ.

Which natural disaster do you think is the most deadly? Provide three specific reasons and examples to support your response.

그래서 내가 �으~~

 I think the earthquake is the most deadly natural disaster.

 First, our country is near the Japen so I think our country is also very dangerous.

 Second, if earthquake is generate as big, many people will die.

 Lastly, we don't know when earthquake come.

 So I think the most deadly natural distar is the earthquake.

영어야 잘 하시겠지만, 논리적으론 첫째, 지진이 일어나면 많은 사람들이 죽고, 둘째, 지진이란 언제 올지 모른다는 위험이고, 셋째, 우리 나라도 일본처럼 지진에서 자유로운 위치(대륙판이 겹치는 이유 등)가 아니라는 순으로 구성함이 어떨지요?

예, 일단 한국어든지 영어든지, 작문 이전에 논리적인 구성이 머리속에서 안되니 독서 교육과 글쓰기 훈련이 참 중요하다고 생각합니다.

중1이참 대단하다. 이러니 우리 어린이는 천재 소리 듣지요. 조기유학 간 애들이 야구팀에 들어가면 어찌나 또리또리 공을 잘 쫓아 받아내는지, 다들 놀라요. 갸들은 그냥 한 군데 멍하니 서 있다가 공기 자기쪽으로 날아오면 잡고, 아니면 뭐,,,,, ㅎㅎㅎ 문장에서 자기 나름 논리가 있으면 그냥 잘 생각했내, 하고 넘기면 된다고 보고. 다만 I think 같은 문구는 빼는 버릇을 들여야. 어짜피 자기의 생각이니 그런 표현은 넣으면 군더더기가 되지요. Earthquake is the most deadly,,,,, because, firstly, our country is near Japan,,,,. Secondly, ,,, Lastly, earthquake is unpredictable. 그럼 문장이 좀 어려워지긴 하지요....

아들넘이 이제 고1인데 물론 말은 좔좔합니다. 그런데 글 봐달라고 보낸 거 보면 마찬가지로 자꾸 I think 같는 문구가 들어가요.......마지막 문장에 결론지으면서, Therefore, I think ... 라고 하는 건 좋겠지요.

안녕하세요? 조카님 영어실력이 뛰어나군요. 제가 대충 몇 자 적어보겠습니다.

I can't help to choose the earthquake to be the most dangerous disaster. For earthquake has brought most people's lives to death than other disasters.

A reason for that is of its destructive power. Compare to other natural disasters, it is obvious to say that earthquake has the most overwhelming power. Not only it could damage plants and animals but also, like not others, it can collapse buildings down into debris.

we could find another reason from the way it is made. Earthquakes occur because of the energy stored
within the earth. It is like the way we people fart, the difference is the earth and people. From this we can't think of the more dangerous disaster.

finally the last reason is that it can creates tsunamis. when tsunamis comes to the bay, seawater goes out rapidly and the next one comes. this happens repeatedly. Today's sicence can't figure out when earthquake occurs, so it's dreadful to think about a sudden tsunami coming behind us.
