1 My dear brothers and sisters,
how can you claim [to have faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ]
if you favor some people /over others?
1 My dear brothers and sisters,
how 어떻게 can you 너희가 claim 주장할 수 있느냐 to have 가진 걸 faith 믿음을
in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ
if 만약 you 너희가 favor 선호하면 some people 어떤 사람들을 over others 다른 이들에게 선호하여?
* 의문사 how는 부사 역할의 대명사 역할도 겸함
* 목적인 부정사구; to have faith /in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ 부정사/준타동사+목+형/전구
* over ; In preference to: ~선호상에서
* voice
1 My brothers and sisters 내 형제자매들이여, I 나는 know 안다 (that)절 내용을 즉 you’ve 너희가 heard 들었다는 걸
this 이것을 /before 전에, but 그렇지만 stop 멈추어라 [playing favorites 선호하기 놀음을]!
Do not try 시도하지 마라 [to blend 혼합하기를 the genuine faith 순전한 믿음을
of our glorious Lord Jesus 영광스러운 주 예수님에 관한, the Anointed One 기름 부으심을 받으신 분,
with your 너희의 silly 어리석은 pretentiousness 가식으로].
* 숙어 play favorites ; to treat some individuals better or to prefer them
* pretentiousness; the quality of being pretentious
behaving or speaking in such a manner as to create a false appearance of great importance or worth 가식
* 목적인 that 절/명사절; (that) you’ve heard this /before
* 목적인 동명사구; playing favorites 동명사/준타동사+목적
* 목적인 명역 부정사구 to blend [the genuine faith /of our glorious Lord Jesus] /with your silly pretentiousness
A verbal is a form of a verb used as an adjective, adverb, or noun.
There are three types of verbals: participles, gerunds, and infinitives
2 For example, suppose () someone comes /into your meeting /dressed in fancy clothes and expensive jewelry,
and another comes in //who is poor and dressed in dirty clothes.
2 For example 예를 들어, suppose 가정하자 (that) someone 어떤 이가 comes 왔다고 into your meeting 너희 모임에
dressed 입은 상태로 in fancy clothes 화려한 옷과 and expensive jewelry 값비싼 보석으로,
and another 다른 이가 comes in 들어왔다고 who 그는 is poor 가난하고 and dressed 입은 상태로
in dirty clothes 더러운 옷을.
* Suppose ; to assume (something), as for the sake of argument or as part of a proposition or theory:
* 목적인 that절/명사절; (that) someone comes into your meeting~
someone (who is) dressed in fancy clothes and expensive jewelry
* 형절 수식관계 another //who is poor and (who) dressed in dirty clothes 주어 수식인 형절/주격 관대절
= [another //who is poor and dressed in dirty clothes] comes in.
* voice
2 If 만약 an affluent 부유한 gentleman 신사가 enters 들어왔다면 your gathering 너희 모임에
/wearing 걸치고 the finest 최고급 clothes 옷과 and priceless jewelry 값비싼 보석을,
don’t trip over 걸려 넘어지지 마라 each other 서로 간에 /trying 시도하면서 to welcome 환영하기를 him 그를.
* Affluent ; having an abundance of wealth, property, or other material goods; prosperous; rich
* finest : the best kind of something, something truly fantastic
* 형역 분사구 /wearing the finest clothes and priceless jewelry
=> an affluent gentleman (who is) wearing the finest clothes and priceless jewelry
* PRICELESS (adjective): very valuable and impossible to replace
* 형역 분사구; /trying to welcome him 현분사의 능동 주체/주어인 you 수식 (명령문으로 생략됨)
= you (who) try to welcome him
My intention was trying to welcome him 보어로 쓰인 동명사구
* trip over 걸려 넘어지다
* voice
And if 만약 a penniless 돈 한 푼 없는 bum 거지가 crawls in 기어들어 오고 /with his shabby clothes 그의 허름한 옷 입고서
and a stench 고약한 냄새가 fills 가득 채운다면 the room 방을,
don’t look away 외면하거나 or pretend 가장하지 마라 (that) you 너희가 didn’t notice 인식하지 못한 것을/처럼
—offer 제공하라 him 그에게 a seat 자리를 /up front 맨 앞에, next to you 너희 옆에.
* crawl in; To enter an area or thing on one's hands and knees.
* upfront - at the front; in front, 앞쪽이라는 의미도 있지만 (of a payment) in advance.
3 If you give special attention and a good seat to the rich person,
but you say /to the poor one, “You can stand /over there, or else sit /on the floor”—well,
3 If 만약 you 너희가 give 주지만 special 특별한 attention 주목/시선/관심과 and a good seat 좋은 자리를
to the rich person
but you 너희가 say 말한다면 to the poor one 가난한 사람에게, “You 당신은 can stand 설 수 있다고 over there 저쪽에,

but 그러나 tell 말한다면 the vagrant 방랑 거지에게, “Oh 오, these seats 이런 자리들은 are saved 잡혀있오.
Go /over there 저리 가시오,”
then 그러면 you’ll 너희는 be judging 판단하는 것이다 God’s children 하나님의 자녀들을 /out of evil motives 악한 동기에서.
* Come (and) sit by me; 구어체에서 and를 생략함; 내 옆에 와서 앉아
* these seats are saved.
Can you save a seat for me?
* vagrant/ˈvāɡrənt 베이그런트/ ; a person who wanders about idly and has no permanent home or employment

promised 약속하신 것 to those 그들에게 who love 사랑하는 him 그분을?
* chosen [the poor in this world] [to be rich in faith] 목적이 목보의 상태가 되므로 5 형식으로 함
* 형절을 3개 포함한 명사구; the ones //who will inherit the Kingdom //that he promised /to those //who love him
* voice

* 부사절 축약형; while (the rich are) climbing the ladder of success
* 숙어 take advantage of something. to use an opportunity to achieve results, sometimes in an unfair way : 이용하다

11 For [the same God //who said, “You must not commit adultery,”
also said, “You must not murder.”
So if you murder someone but do not commit adultery, you have still broken the law.
11 For 왜냐면 the same 동일한 God 하나님께서 who 그분 said 말씀하신,
“You 너희는 must not commit 범하면 안 된다 adultery 간음을,”
also 역시 said 말씀하셨다, “You 너희는 must not murder 살인하면 안 된다.”
So 그러므로 if 만약 you 너희가 murder 살인하지만 someone 어떤 이를
but 그러나 do not commit 범하지 않는다면 adultery 간음을,
you 너희는 have still 여전히 broken 깬 것이다 the law 율법을.
* 직접 화법으로 쓴 형절/주격 주격 관대절 //who said, “You must not commit adultery,” (관계사=선행사=주어)

“So I have made you despised and humiliated in the eyes of all the people.
For you have not obeyed me but have shown favoritism in the way you carry out my instructions.”
(Malachi 2:9)
* voice
11 The same God 동일한 하나님께서 //who said 말씀하셨다,

If 만약 you 너희가 break 깬다면 either 둘 중 하나라도 of these commands 이런 명령들의,

(it is) no matter how you look at it
* 관용어; no matter how /whether/what etc. : used for saying something is not important.
in any situation, regardless of what happens, although some situation may happen, another situation will remain true
12 So whatever you say or whatever you do, remember that you will be judged by the law //that sets you free.
12 So 그러므로 whatever 무엇을 you 너희가 say 말하든지 or whatever 무엇을 you 너희가 do 하든지,
remember 기억하라 that절 내용을 즉 you 너희가 will be judged 심판받을 것이라고 by the law 율법에 의해서
that 그 법은 sets 놓여나게 하는 you 너희를 free 자유하게.
* 문장 전체 수식의 부사적으로 쓰인 의문사절/명사절; whatever you say or whatever you do 무슨 말이나 무얼 하던지

또는 타동사구로 하면 3 형식 (that=the law) sets you free (타동사구 사이에 목적이 쓰임)
* to set free ; to cause to be free; release; liberate.
God will not judge those who trust in Christ under the absolute standards of the Old Testament Law.
Instead, He will judge us under the standards of the law of liberty, or the law that gives freedom.
In Christ, forgiven from our sin, we are free to obey the God who loves us and shows us mercy.
We must speak and act toward each other as people also in need of great mercy from God,
fellow sinners forgiven by the blood of Christ.
In that humility, we are very unlikely to show favoritism based on the world's standards.
* voice
12 So 그러므로 live 살아라 [your life 너희 인생을] /in such 그런 a way 방식으로 //that 그건 acknowledges 인식하는
[that 절 내용을 즉 one day 어느 날 you 너희는 will be judged 심판받을 것이라는 것을].
But 그러나 [the law 그 법은 //that 그건 judges 심판하는] also 또한 gives 준다 freedom 자유를,
* 타동사로 쓰인 live ; To go through; experience, To practice in one's life: 살다/경험하다
* 전목인 명사구; such a way //that acknowledges that one day you will be judged 한정사+명사+형절/주격+명사절
* 한정사는 관사 앞에 쓰임 ; such a way, all the way 등

Occurring or existing as something indefinite, as in time or position:
* CSB: Speak and act as those who are to be judged by the law of freedom.
13 There will be no mercy /for those who have not shown mercy to others.
But if you have been merciful, God will be merciful /when he judges you.
13 There will be 존재하지 않을 것이다 no mercy 어떤 자비라도 for those 그들에게 who 그들 have not shown 안 보이는
But 그러나 if 만약 you 너희가 have been merciful 자비롭다면,
God 하나님께서는 will be merciful 자비로우실 것이다 when 그때 he 그분께서 judges 심판하실 때 you 너희를.
* voice
13 although 비록 you 너희가 can’t expect 예상 못 하지만 [to be shown 보여/주어지기를 mercy 자비가]
/if 만약 you 너희가 refuse 거부하면 [to show 보이기를/주기를 mercy 자비를].
But 그러나 hear 들어 보라 this 이것을:
Thank God!
* 자동사로 쓰인 win; 1. to receive something positive, such as approval, loyalty, or love because you have earned it:
2. To achievesuccess in an effort or venture:
14 What good is it, dear brothers and sisters,

Can that kind of faith save anyone?

if 만약 you 너희가 say 말한다면 (that)절 내용을 즉 you 너희가 have 가졌다는 걸 faith 믿음을
but 그러나 don’t show 보이지 않는다면 it 그것을 by your actions 너희 행동으로?
Can that kind of faith
* it = faith
* 행동 없는 믿음이란 말로만 하는 믿음을 의미한다 보임
