[000] Now, the Rest of the Story.
[001] Among the makers of majestic pipe organs for churches and
universities, Charles Frisk is a legend.
[002] He grew up in Cambridge, Massachusetts. As a teenager, he
was somewhat of an electronics wizard.
[003] He was building two amplifiers before there was such a
term as (High Fidelity).
[004] Later he went to Havard, then to Stanford, then he
abandoned his burgeoning scientific career for the
beautiful world of music.
[005] 1954, became the apprentice of the renowned organ-maker
Walter Holtkamp. Within 18 months, Charles had earned a
partnership in the Andover Organ Company.
[006] And by 1959, he owned that company.
[007] And by1962, he had moved to Gloucester, Massachusetts as
C.B. Fisk Incorporated.
[008] Charles never did resume the interest in electronics that
had made him teen talk of the town.
[009] In fact, there was something decidedly anti-technological
in the Charles Fisk approach to organmaking. First, all
Fisk organs are trecker organs, no electronics--simply
woods, rods and wires as one might find in the pipe
orgran century's old.
[010] Charles even called with that lonesome 20th Century touch
found in all modern treckers, the electric blower motor.
[011] He understood that nobody wanted to stand around in the
church basement, hand pumping organ bellows not nowadays,
but he also understood the organs of old rendered
slightly irregular woobling sound.
[012] So, in 1968, yet every proposed that very perceptible
wooble bestored to the trecker organ, that the modern
superconsistent electronic blowers and wind supply
regulators not be alllowed to smudge the beauty, what he
called "the natural grace of the past."
[013] Now, that proposal was vigorously denounced by his
colleagues at the time.
[014] It would take them a decade or so to see it his way, but
the point is Charles Fisk was a proud reactionary.
[015] With loving hands he fashioned the charm of a thousand
yesterdays from the same materials our ancestors used,
almost so he was intentionally turning away from some
terrible vision, although attempting to atone for some
past unpardonable sin.
[016] And in fact, there was a private nightmare that cast its
shadow on his dreams, it began before Stanford, before
Havard, when the slender brown-haired boy genius in
electronics was sent to Chicago to work on the top secret
"Manhattan Project."
[017] That's right. At 20, he was signed to the now infamous
labaratories at Los Alamos, where he spent the remainder
of World War II and where those same hands which
eventually, lovingly, repentantly fashion instruments of
beauty, once created instruments of terror and
destruction.
[018] The Great Charles Fisk died in December 16, 1983, but his
masterwork of musical glory and spritual peace live on.
[019] Often the admirers of those tracker organs will gaze at
them, in wonder, to envsion their creator before turning
from a brilliant career in electronics and nuclear
physics helped to devise the detonators for the world
first atomic bombs.
[020] Only, now you know the rest of the story.

[000] 이제, the Rest of the Story입니다.
C.B Fisk
[020] 이제서야 여러분은 the rest of the story를 알고 계십니다.
