2024년 6월 2일 지극히 거룩하신 그리스도의 성체 성혈 대축일 복음 묵상 (마르 14,12-16.22-26) (이근상 신부)
While they were eating, he took bread, said the blessing, broke it, gave it to them, and said, "Take it; this is my body." Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, and they all drank from it. He said to them, "This is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed for many. Amen, I say to you, I shall not drink again the fruit of the vine until the day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God."(Mark 14,22-25)
His body was broken. He is like broken bread to be consumed. In fact, in terms of digestion, the degree of brokenness is a necessary condition, though cruel in a sense. Nevertheless, he was broken, and then we consume it or him. This brokenness is what we are ordered or invited to follow. It is the covenant we are supposed to keep for our life, which is broken indeed from the beginning. We are broken, if we are called Christians. What we have to consume and follow is broken. I would like to say that brokenness is our identity, if you allow me to define who he is. We are broken in every sense. This may be viewed as shameful in the worldly view, but in our faith, it is glory. For it is the way in which we see and meet him. And we honor him and ourselves who are with him.
