Day 22(Oct 18) : Sahugun to El Burgo Ranero 18 km a short day
12 Euro per person...
Walking on the Camino gives time for reflections on the past life and thinking of
what to do in the future. My spouse mentioned every 100 km of walking would
mark every decade of life. The first 100 km I was thinking of my elementary school
days, the 200 km for my high school days when I made friends of life sharing.
The 300km reflects my study years in the States attending four different colleges,
solitude years separated from the family and friend’s back home.
We just completed 400 km mark reflecting the time of building the family with
my spouse of 45 years happiness. Next 500km I will reflect my time on focusing
on my career build-up followed the next 600 km all four children left home working
on their studies and career starts. The 700 km mark I was given an opportunity
living in Korea with my father and friends in my mother land.
The final stretch of 800 km plus marks my retirement and traveling with my
the other half all over the world. This is the era I feel more self esteem to
overcome the weariness I suffer from all the past decades of 70 years total.
If I had such self esteem I would have a totally different life than the one I have.
I cannot tell which would be better...haha
Yesterday was very windy all day but we made to this remote town called El Burgo Ranero.
We met a couple from Pennsylvania had dinner and wine, good conversations!
This 8 beds are all full with mans BO I couldn’t sleep all night. Got up at 5:30 waiting for Dad
to wake up and keep walking. We passed halfway couple of days ago!
Can you believe we are still walking?
