It was my second time to attend the English class yesterday. In the class, we talked about new year's resolutions. Interestingly, most of the members seemed to have the same plan which was something related with English. It is probably natural for them to have enrolled the English class when the new year began.
I am also eager to improve my English proficiency though, my mind is quite different from before.
Last year, I took TOEIC test several times, but there was no special reason for me to have done so.
I just wondered what TOEIC was about and why all young generation including my children were under the stress because of TOEIC in Korea. Moreover, I wanted to have an official English score.
Sometimes my husband and children played a joke on me when I studied, but they always cheered me up. I was neither a job seeker nor an examinee for college, but I wanted to get good score in TOEIC.
One day I found myself that I had been under a big pressure. But I couldn't drop off the study for TOEIC till I reached my goal. Wasn't it some kind of an adherence to my decision or an intellectual vanity?
People who knew that I had studied English always asked me, "Why do you study English? "
Honestly I don't have the exact answer for it. I'd like to ask the same question to members of the English class.
"Why do you study English? "
