Manager, Technology Trade and Investment Representative
British Columbia Trade and Investment Office, Korea
Since 2008, the British Columbia Trade and
Investment Representative (TIR) Office has been representing the Government of
British Columbia (B.C.), Canada, in Korea. The B.C. TIR office provides
integrated trade and investment programs and services to help B.C. increase its
exports, develop international partnerships, increase awareness of B.C.’s
competitive advantages and attract investment and business to the province,
such as company head offices.
Responsibilities:
Identify opportunities and help facilitate
trade and investment deals between British Columbia-based technology companies
and Korean importers and investors. Develop and maintain relationships with key
accounts in the Korean technology sector with a focus on ICT, digital media and
entertainment, and life science sub-sectors. Assist both business and government
delegates from B.C. at industry trades shows in Korea Focus on promoting R&D collaboration
agreements between B.C. government, industry, and education institutions and
Korean counterparties.
Requirements
Minimum 5+ years’ experience working in
trade and/or investment with a focus on ICT, digital media and entertainment,
and life sciences sectors. Strong industry relationships with key
Korean technology companies such as: Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics,
Kakao, LINE, SK Telecom, CJ E&M, Celltrion, Samsung Bioepis, Hanmi Pharm,
NC Soft, Nexon, Net Marble, Gamevil, etc. Strong industry association contacts
preferred Fluency in Korean and Proficiency in English
