The __The Lady Elizabeth__ summary:
The treason which crown Lady Jane Grey to the Queen was revealed before it succeeded. Even though she didn't do nothing, Elizabeth was trapped in the treason, too. Queen Mary didn't truly suspected Elizabeth, but didn't trust her. So Queen called Elizabeth return to court for keeping watch in her.
Poor Lady Jane Grey's end was very bad. Even though Lady Jane Grey didn't to anything, she was loyal family and too dangerous to Queen Mary. At last, Lady Jan Grey was beheaded. Elizabeth feared death too, but she made up her mind to survive and protested her innocence. Queen Mary didn't want to behead Elizabeth, but insisted that Elizabeth had to be held under house arrest at some secure place and kept under surveillance.
Even though Elizabeth was under house arrest, the mass of people loved her. When she moved to somewhere, crowds lined the roadside. It was same in every town and village that they passed through. The people were waiting for her, calling down blessings on her name, throwing flowers at her litter and clapping enthusiastically as she was carried by. Even German merchants let off a salute in Elizabeth's honor when she was near them.
Elizabeth tried to improve her innocence to the queen, but it was unsuccessful. And there was Queen Mary's wedding. Queen Mary was very happy and wished to get pregnant. If she got her own successor baby, her sister Elizabeth would be hanged. Philip also prayed that his wife would soon be with child, so that he could leave the England and never return. Fortunately Queen Mary was pregnant soon, Queen Mary was very satisfied and became loyal to her husband. Mary sent England back into obedience to Rome and decided Anglicans to burn at the stake. But most English didn't like it; Mary was now too passionate to Spain. Even Elizabeth's surveillant advised Elizabeth to be careful in religious problem as a loyal Englishman.
