다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)
Idioms are one of the figurative languages most frequently used by school-age children, and they have a special meaning, so it is difficult to understand the meaning with only a section of vocabulary. Therefore, we need clues to find the idiomatic meaning. This study investigated the characteristics of understanding idioms according to the with or without context between ADHD children and normal children. In addition, by analyzing the types of errors in the intergroup idiom task, we tried to identify the types of errors.
A total of 24 elementary school students aged 10-11 years old, 12 ADHD children and 12 general children performed an idiom comprehension task. In order to confirm the effect of context, the task was controlled and selected for unfamiliar and low-transparency idioms, and divided into conditions with context and conditions without context. Then, they were asked to choose an answer from three options: idiomatic meaning(correct), a literal errors, and an unrelated errors.
As a result of the study, there was a statistically significant difference in the task of understanding idioms between the ADHD children group and the general child group, and ADHD children showed difficulty in understanding the meaning of idioms compared to general children. Both groups showed higher performance in the contextual condition than in the contextless condition, and the ADHD children's group was able to show the same idiom comprehension performance as normal children in the contextual condition. Regarding the pattern of errors between groups, the ADHD children group showed a high frequency of literal errors, and the general child group showed a high frequency of unrelated errors.
To summarize the results, ADHD children show limited ability to understand idioms compared to normal children, and although the help of context showing the situational context helps to understand idioms, Even if there is context, ADHD children, unlike normal children, try to approach idioms with literal interpretation.
Considering these results, the need for idiom education for school-age ADHD children is suggested in the future, and it is intended to be a basic data for idiom learning and treatment intervention for ADHD children.

국문 초록 (Abstract)
